View Full Version : Sundays

Not sure if this is the right section for this, but it seemed the most closely related to what I want to say.

Series have been starting at reasonable times on Fridays and Saturdays, but for some reason we never get a decent start time on Sundays. Is there anyway this can be rectified(like keeping a tighter leash on when these guys get up)? I understand these LANs aren't ALL about Halo and the guys are doing other things to have fun that keep them up into the morning, but the "tournament" portion of the LAN running until 6 AM EST is a little ridiculous from a spectator PoV.

I sympathize with the foreigners watching who get screwed regardless of when they start, but being only an hour ahead and being expected to stay up till 6 AM to view what I paid for is a little lame.

I appreciate what TLN has given the community, and I love everything else about it, but twice now I've had to screw my sleep schedule by staying up till 3 or 4 AM(couldn't make it all the way till the sun comes up) to watch the best part of the LANs...having to catch it several days later on the rebroadcast and knowing the results isn't nearly as exciting. Would be very much appreciated if for future LANs there was more of an effort(not saying there hasn't been any already) to get things started at a reasonable time the entire duration of the LAN.

Just wanted to add as a sidenote, I know all of the people that do so much work keeping the stream and equipment running are suffering with everyone else who has to stay up all hours of the night, but I think that would be all the more incentive to get the players up a couple hours sooner(and maybe to bed sooner) so the LANs aren't finishing as the sun comes up on Monday morning.

I completely agree. I haven't been able to watch any of the tournaments because of this reason. I don't see any harm in just starting earlier, end the series at 2am and that gives them plenty of rest and do whatever else they want to do.

We understand and have tried to address the problem in the past, the schedule has been rearranged to accomdate the entire tournament alotting 10 hours of time on sunday for the tournament from 3pm to 1am. Check the 6 Team Lan thread for the full schedule.

I'm also concerned about the lack of common day streaming? I know the players have lives and everthing, but it'd be nice to have one pro streaming as much as possible throughout the day, dead time is just so annoying, especially in quite big hour increments, and for the members who pay since the archive isn't up yet, it's basically like were paying to hopefully see footage, ya know?

I understand where youre coming from. I also understand how gamers work. I know that if im gaming for a long time its not usually from 10 A.M. til 10 P.M. Its usually from the evening until early morning.

I hope you guys can actually stay on schedule on Sunday this time. ;) I hate missing the last of the tournies.

I really like this idea of staying on schedule (especially for Sunday) because having school Monday morning has basically stopped me from watching the finals for the previous two LANs.

That'd be great, and it's even better due to me having Sunday off, so I'll get the full brunt of the tournament! :D

Sounds really good from what I can tell. They seem to be listening to the community's concerns and addressing them, and that is huge in my book. I can't wait for the LAN tomorrow. Good stuff guys!

aren't you that guy that just joined the last day of the 3 team LAN? If so, they did stream quite a bit leading up to the LAN but this week they were probably taking some time off of Halo since everyone there was going to have to play a lot of Halo this weekend. Althought they should do a better job of saying when they're going to play when they're not LANing so people know when to check in.
