Hey guys, this week I will be interviewing shelly our first girl on the report! We are going to be mainly focusing on how she started gaming and what it’s like being a girl gamer. I will be linking older episodes as usual. Now for the actual interview.

Luke: I’m glad you accepted my offer to be on the lucky luke report. So are you ready to get to the interview?
Shelly: Thanks for having me! Let's get it started.
Luke: So when were you introduced to MLG and did anyone introduce you to videogames?
Shelly: Haha, weeelll, I've been playing video games ever since I was super young, but it wasn't until Christmas of '08 that I finally got an Xbox 360. My good friend Nick actually told me that I needed to get one so that I could get Halo 3, so I convinced my parents to get me a 360 as a gift, and I bought Halo 3 on Boxing Day. But it wasn't until maybe the middle of the '09 MLG season that I finally got really into it.
Luke: What are some of your favourite moments while following MLG?
Shelly: My first Halo 3 LAN!! Actually the first LAN that I ever went to, I hosted at my house. It was SO much fun. But mainly, I'd have to say MLG Columbus '10. It was my first event, and I went with 5 of my really close friends, and it was the best experience of my life. Halo Pros are seriously like celebrities to me, so finally getting to meet a couple of my favourites was an amazing experience (special mentions: Snip3down, T2, Heinz, Pistola).
Luke: I understand girls that play video games can get a lot of grief for it. How often do you get this sort of grief? Does it effect you at all? How do you overcome it?
Shelly: Oh my godd, you have NO idea!! I get a lot of crap for being a girl gamer, even from other girl gamers! It's ridiculous. Some of the guys on TLN who I run matchmaking with have witnessed it haha. Guys will either call me fat, and insult me, or they make inappropriate sexual comments and try to hit on me. It really gets old, I mainly just laugh it off.
Luke: Do you think the future looks bright for more girls getting into videogames? Do you think one day the amount of guys and girls that play videogames will be equal?
Shelly: I don't think it'll ever become equal, but you definitely see a lot more girls getting into it, and it's awesome! I'm apart of XBL Dreamgirls, and I try to play with them online as much as I can. Check them out! There's a lot of girls apart of it, and for different games other than Halo as well.
Luke: If you could change one thing about MLG what would it be? And why?
Shelly: Oh wow, tough question. Uhmmm, I'm not sure! I love everything about MLG! But I guess maybe get better quality for the live stream? Especailly for people outside of the U.S who can't afford the trip to events, the live stream could use better quality. I know they have the HD stream now, but really, $10 for HD?? It's ridiculous, and half the time that I've used it, there have been issues with it.
Luke: From the time you wake up until the time you go to bed what is the average day like for Shelly?
Shelly: Hahahahahahaha, oh dear. Well, on a day that I don't work, I'll sleep in for as long as I can, but for a day when I have to work, I'll get up around 1pm and get ready for work. My shifts are usually 2-9:30. After work I'll usually change out of my uniform into sweatpants and a hoodie, check my facebook/TLN, and then immediately jump onto XBL. I'll play Reach with the TLN guys for most of the night, sometimes with special appearances by Pistola. But now that my boyfriend is home from University, I'll be spending more time with him. Sorry guys, but my gaming time will probably get cut down significantly
Luke: Before TLN were you ever active on any other forum sites? What is so special about TLN that makes it different from other forums?
Shelly: I've never been active on any other forum site except for TLN. And let's be serious, I'm obsessed with TLN. But I mean, I've lurked around the MLG forums obviously, but I've never actually posted in them. And I like TLN way more than MLG forums because the community on TLN is amazing. Everyone is just so helpful, and supportive of each other.
Luke: What are some of your favourite things to do in life? Do Have any hobbies you would like to share?
Shelly: Other than gaming you mean? Hahaha, but yeah, I play soccer in the summer, I've been playing since I was 8. I love concerts as well! Crowd-surfing is actually so much fun. And I love to read, I'm obsessed with Harry Potter, and Chuck Palahniuk is one of my favourite authors.
Luke: Now you’ve told me before that you attended MLG Dallas, how was the overall experience? What are the most memorable parts of Dallas?
Shelly: Dallas was a blast!! Other than my mishap with the flight home, it was amazing, I had a great time. Most memorable part was probably hanging out with some of the pros on the Thursday night (shoutouts to Heinz, Bestman, Pistola, ToTz) and of course, ToTz introduced me to his AMAZING parents.
Mr. and Mrs. P are the best, and thank you Mrs. P for giving me your last TLN wristband, I wear it all the time!
Luke: Will we see you at any upcoming MLG events in the near future? If so will you be competing, coaching, or spectating?
Shelly: I'm definitely going to do everything I can to make it to ALL of the events for 2011. Personally I don't feel my individual skill is up to par just yet for competing, but I'm definitely looking into coaching. If not though, I'll be there to spectate regardless!
Luke: Now for the last question, Everybody in the community knows your favourite pro player is Snip3down, but what we’d like to know is what makes him your favourite?
Shelly: Hahahahah oh my god, I did not see this question coming. For one, I'd like to point out that he is GORGEOUS, I don't care what anyone says. But really, the first team that caught my eye when I got into MLG was Str8 Rippin, and they were immediately my favourite team. But the player that caught my attention was Snip3down. His individual skill just blew my mind, he was always doing big things in every match. Finally meeting him in Columbus was like, a dream come true. And the fact that he's actually a really nice guy in real life, kind of finalized him as my favourite.
But he's not the only one! Roy, Pistola, and T2 are a couple of my other favourite pros.

Shelly: omgomgomg.... Itchy (so hard to pick)
Luke: If Smallz was a type of dog, what type of dog would he be?

Shelly: guhh, don't make me choose!!! I'm going to say Instinct.. only because I'm loving the roster right now.
Luke: If you could have any car in the world what would it be?
Shelly: Dodge Challenger, LFG!

Shelly: Canada

Shelly: flip flops!
Luke: Most prized possession?
Shelly: lol... besides my xbox.. I have a small stuffed animal that's a black dog that I've had since I was 11 or 12. Named Padfoot (after a Harry Potter character).

Shelly: Fight Club or American History X
