Strict NAT is terrible, if you play on Strict NAT, switch to Open NAT as soon as possible.
Now it may seem stupid to blame my bad play on that, but I just wanna say that if you think you are playing terrible (shot-wise), and you are on Strict NAT, trust me that your shot will be a million times better when you switch to Open NAT.
I quit my team because I was doing terrible, but ironically I got switched to Open NAT a few days later and now I'm performing like I've wanted to all along.
So everyone, make the switch if you haven't... it will make you think twice about quitting Reach.

WIN!
I would play at a friend's house and would get strict NAT and it really does affect what I can do as a player. It sucks...

Look it up on Google. There are many step-by-step guides for it. My brother was the one who actually did it, but he used one of those.

Here is the support page for that: http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/troubleshoot/kb/error-your-nat-type-strict.aspx?kbid=979000
It's all about connection not game performance or speed.
From XBox Support:
When you have a NAT warning, you might experience the following symptoms:
You cannot hear a certain a player within a game or someone cannot hear you.
You cannot join a party or your friend cannot join your party.
Some things to be aware of:
NAT problems do not affect game play speed. A NAT warning affects the ability to connect and communicate with other players.
You should not experience a NAT warning if you are using a wired modem connection.
If you are using the network at your workplace or college, there is a good chance that you are behind a proxy server or firewall, which is why you are experiencing NAT issues. Contact your network administrator for help.
If youre using hardware that is compatible with Windows Vista or Windows 7, NAT issues should not occur.

In computer networking, network address translation (NAT) is the process of modifying network address information in datagram (IP) packet headers while in transit across a traffic routing device for the purpose of remapping one IP address space into another.

If you can't connect well with other players then would that not affect your bullets registering?

Well if you have Strict NAT, you probably also have a higher packet loss rate, or whatever that is. Cause I did.
I'll tell you what though, I'm not playing well by placebo effect, cause I didn't know I was on Open NAT til last night, and I was playing better before then.

At some colleges, like the one I went to, your internet sucks and you have closed NAT no matter what you do, it sucks

If you can't connect you can't play at all. If you are loosing packets it's a different story.
