I'm not a fan of the spread and the shot registration is poor. The campaign was silly at best.

Online play is horrible, it's hard to practice through lag and shots not registering no matter where your redicle is, never played the campaign, but on LAN the game is great, along with a HIGHLY competitive base it makes for very entertaining viewing.

yeah its definitely inconsistent but it still felt like halo unlike halo reach imo

Yeah, reach is definitly a NEW type of halo, it does combine elements of the older Halo's but also gives it a new feel, when I was playing I was using BJ as my settings and I kept wanting to jump with A, lol, but it's because the game just feels so new, and I think that's going to be a major selling point for Competitve and Casual fans.

Basically, Halo 3's true problem is the BR spread. It is completely crippled when it comes to shooting mid-long to long ranges. Even on LAN, it takes a good 7+ shots to kill someone from Cannon to Cannon on Narrows. Not to mention there is a lacking of quality maps. Narrows is the best one because of the excellent lines of sight and different angles there are, but the Halo 3 BR does not work properly on it, and there's not enough options when it comes to movement around the map.

Halo 3 is an alright multiplayer. I never really fell in love with it like I did for Halo 2. Hoping Halo Reach will be much better.

too inconsistent for me. hoping reach is a lot more consistent.
I've never played a game where connection absolutely dominates. This game is only "fun" when you're on host or playing on LAN. Everything else is bull.

Damn a lot of hate for Halo 3...I personally liked Halo 3 more than Halo 2 on a competitive stand point. Halo 3 takes more strategy, teamwork and thought. Im sad to see it go )=. I hope they test Reach out the ass to make sure its good for MLG.

halo2 is better than 3 no question if 3 would have been hitscan then yano

I agree that it was inconsistent at times but I still think it was a pretty good game. I did like Halo 2 a little better but Halo 3 isn't a bad game.

So you've obviously never played Gears of War, lol. Gears is FAR worse then Halo host, FAR worse. H3 will more then likely see it's last life here in the next few months, shortly to be replaced by Reach, pro's will still play H3 to practice but I see 85% of the players dropping H3 and playing Reach, competitive players will for sure drop it unless they need combine practice or event practice, there's no point in playing H3 to get ready for 2011 when Reach will be the big Title.

Ive kind of given up on halo 3 now that Reach is only 1 months away. Because i am UK based, and i never got host my BR is far too inconsistent. From the beta, the hitscan nature of weapons seems to have fixed that problem.

Unfortunately, I never got into Gears. I played the Campaign for Achievements, but that's about all. So I wouldn't know, I know in MW2 - Host really isn't a factor, it just takes no skill. I got pretty good at it though. I kind of wish that I would've played Halo 2. I got into Halo 3 about 5 months after it came out (same for MW2) and got better than most of the kids that have been playing it since the Halo 2 days. I'm kind of excited since Reach will be the first game that I've gotten to play when it's been released. Hopefully it won't be a disappointment.

Reach will not be a disappointment at all. But the fact remains that just because it's a new Halo game a lot of kids think they have a chance to go pro, well I'm going to let EVERYONE know, if you did not go pro in Halo 3, you have that same chance in Reach, what matters is a good shot, communication, strategy, and chemistry, none of those differ game to game.

Im going to carry on going to events in the UK, hopefully i will get some notoriety over here

You might, but the thing is with that, while there may be some kind of MLG over in Europe it's still not MLG, in order to get recognized...globally, you'd have to attend the tournaments here in the U.S. Seems slightly unfair I know but that's how it works, lol, we know of good European players but not many.

I know, which is why i have never competed in the US leagues. I dont really expect anything to come of it. Just to attend some of the ECL tournaments in the UK and see what comes of it. If i get the chance to get some cash then all the better.
But i dont expect myself to go into reach and instantly get recognised

I think a lot of people do though, mentality is...New Game = Easy Pro....sadly that's not even close to the case, if you were bad in H3 you are more then likely going to be bad in Reach, just how it works. If you want to get recognized, then you have to go to events, plain and simple.

Halo 3 could be instantly fixed with an improved br. and perhaps a faster strafe. to increase the skill gap, by making it more difficult to hit players.

I think the player speed was perfectly fine in H3, and gamescom the bungie director said that the speed will be the same as H3, faster speed only makes the game more like CoD which isn't what the community wants, they want Halo not call of duty, lol. And the BR is being inproved in reach so no point in fixing the H3 BR now, sadly.:( If they'd of fixed it earlier it'd been nice, but no bones.

It was hard for me to switch fro H2 to H3, but i think i did well after all. I'm glad Halo 3 continued to be at the top on MLG and hope Reach proves to be great.
Halo 3 is still fun for me, and will more than likely still play it during Reach.
Kewl beans! it was my seventh post!!

I will be playing Reach and burning halo 3. Even if Reach isn't as good as I want it to be, I would still play it just for Forge World.

We are going to be seeing some awesome maps come out of Forge World. I can't wait to see what people come up with!

Halo 3 isn't the best game I've ever played but it's certainly not as bad as some drama queens make it out to be.

Yeah, already thought of a few maps. Even though I suck at Forge, I have friends who are godly. I will just watch over their shoulders. lol

i don't understand why everyone is so pissy about the br spread in H3. real weapons (i'm a marine, so don't screw with me) have a margin of error too. it just depends how

I understand where you're coming from. But this is futuristic warfare. Halo cannot be compared to modern day war.

I'm guessing the transition to Reach will be a lot like my transition to Halo 3. I had my qualms with Halo 3 in the beginning since I was so set in my ways with Halo 2 but eventually I grew to love the game. I still reminisce about the days of Halo 2 and plan on doing the same about Halo 3 at some point.
I can't wait for Reach's differences to bring new talent to the surface of MLG's forefront. Already planned the 14th off from work just to get a good start on Reach :)
I'll mainly miss the Sniper and body movement of H3!
