View Full Version : "Inverse" TLN Map Submission

Now this map is a 2 base symmetrical map that is ideal for All MLG Gametypes and is the first map that i have seen that plays each of these gametypes very well...
So download and Leave feedback...

Also this is another map that i have submitted to the contest..

Tested with Sprint and No frame Rate issues ( Tested in Split Screen ) Enjoy!!

Game Types: CTF, TS, Oddball, Assualt

Weapons and Abilities

* DMR x10 (10s)
* Needle Rifles x4 (60s)
* Grenade Launcher x1 (118s)
* Evade x 1 (1s)
* Health packs x6 (30s)
* Grenades x8 (30s)




V4 updates

* Clean up Routes from bottom middle to green and Orange tunnels
* Removed plats and added different pits to mirror each corner
* Removed Rockets
* Re did middle increase it by 2 units
* added Evade
* Added height Variation to streets
* Re work map to allow with or with out Sprint

I don't want to "nock it before I try it," but it looks like you took a little too much from Genome. I have to admit that I looked deeply into Genome for my map as well, but I only took the platform idea and I used it lightly. You seemed to have used it maybe more that needed with no other purpose but for aesthetics. It's probably too late to change as you have submitted it, but I think it's overdone. Best of luck in the contest though! I didn't have enough time to make multiple maps like you. Good job!

Well the only idea i took was the bridge, but mine is totally different. like genome's map the middle is to block certain LOS and what is different besides the the half moon look is that i used double and my middle is angled as cover, but you have to get to the top to rain shots on the opposing team. Now a lot of people took idea's off a lot of my maps, like Downfall Onslaught Refinery, submission and i could post more, but thats not the point. The point is to get the best map out and to help each other out in doing so. That is what a community is, helping one another.

I take the overdone part to heart. The middle is only similar to ladnil map of the shape. I can make a bridge across the middle and it would resemble some other map.

I'm all for the free exchange of ideas in map making, so if Genome inspired this middle, then I am glad to have helped. Besides, I don't think it's really fair to say any map that uses that kind of arch is borrowing from Genome. Perhaps I did it first, but I never expected to be the last.

You are right. I never thought of it like that, and that's a really positive way to look at it. Are you entering a map into the contest by chance? Because if you are.....

Very open and random boxes sticking out of the ground. Probably reminds him of Hang em High's very open floor with the random objects sticking out of the ground. And then there's the ditch in the middle.

Thanks! Couldn't have said it better myself. Obviously I wasn't saying it was a copy or anything, just a resemblance which is a good thing since HeH rocks!

Good way to poke at my map.

See word your post different so you don't come off like a a##.

... Your map is really good. I wasn't poking fun at your map. I was explaining his point of view as to why it would remind him of Hang em High.

I'm not going to word my post differently. I thought it was perfectly fine. Random is not a bad word to me. I'm sorry if it is to you.

Hang em High is a great map, so it's not bad that someone says it reminds them of it.

I think this is a great map.
Off topic: I can see where you came off rude Impended. As I was reading that post I was like wow because everyone that forges well knows "random" objects aren't a good thing.

Those 3 random blocks he has on each side of the arch act perfectly for cover in this map. Just because they're random blocks coming out of the ground does not mean it's a bad thing, as long as they do what they're supposed to. Kind of like MLG's version of Sanctuary with random rocks popping out of steel floor... it's random, but it does what it's supposed to very well.

Well never used random as a good thing when it came to forge, but all is fine.

I've noticed that alot of people in these map submission forums are taking things too seriously. Guys, honestly, if there is any kind of info that may be along the lines of "it may look cool if" or "I think you should" or anything like that, it means that THEY ARE TRYING TO HELP YOU, not make fun of you, but to give you as much advice as you can get for improving yourself for this contest. Just sayin....
