I just recently ordered a iPad for christmas. Can anyone that owns one like to discuss their opinions on it. It looks like a nice attraction. Im mainly going to use it for Word and Keynote.

I absolutely love mine. If there are any specific questions or issues you may have don't hesitate to ask. I use my iPad for everything. It's even better for traveling to MLG events and not having to carry around my macbook pro.

make sure you get the skyfire app, it enables flash for the iPad and iPhone, it makes the iPad the must have mobile device

Are you using it for college/high school? If you are going to be looking at a lot of powerpoint presentations then you might want to look into a windows based tablet. Keynote tends to blow it in the world of decoding .ppt presentations.

@Joe Fries, I will be using it for Highschool. I also heard there was a new iPad coming out in March, I hope that I didn't buy mine to late :/ . Otherwise, thanks for the replies and I'm glad I made a great buy.

Wait for the new Ipad is what I'd recommend. If I were going to be using it for word a lot, I'd get a laptop instead simply because I don't find typing on screen very convenient. The Ipad is great for internet browsing, though.

If you do invest in buying one, jailbreaking it is a must.

I am not crazy about the ipad. I guess its cool for chillin, surfin the web, or watchin vids but def not for school. I would have gotten a really good netbook or an okay laptop.

I love my ipad. i would recommend it for basically anything. except gaming. LOVE IT!

If you want to wait awhile, BlackBerry is coming out with something called the PlayBook. I'll be around the same price as the iPad, but this thing is beast. It's pretty much a laptop in the case of a iPad :P. How do I know it's going to be good?, sneak preview from my dad :P. I have an iPad also, its good for smalled apps and mini games if it's jailbroken :P

I see there is an BlackPad out made by Blackberry but that was it. Also, What are some advantages for Jailbreaking an iPad. Can you get movies and other free paid things.

If you want free movies, you have to find those on your own. But basically, jailbraking your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad gives you access to an alternative app store with a bunch off apps and unsigned code that have been denied or banned by Apple or apps by Devs who don't find it worth it to jump through Apple's hoops to get in the official app store.

Jailbraking is completetly legal but it will void your warranty. Though if you ever need to send your device to Apple, it is easy to restore it back to the origional OS.

I won one at a local arcade and played around with it a little bit, but it just felt like a bigger Itouch to me. Just my opinion really. It was kinda cool, but I'd rather have a laptop. I ended up selling it on craig's list
