View Full Version : Displacement: TLN Map Quest

Displacement is a map that favors 5 Flag and 5 Bomb. Spawn killing is critical and the spawn system is easy to understand. A good team will constantly be in control of their own balcony and their opponents balcony, forcing teams to find alternatives to the elevator or balcony quick jump. Displacement features rockets bottom mid, two health packs n the upper corners, and a jet pack in each tunnel. It is a very quick-paced map, with rooms that are the right size for Halo Reach battles.

Got a 4v4 the other day, and it actually played MLG a hell of a lot better than I thought it would. Similar to an Onslaught that relied on some, but not abusive spawnkilling.

Very happy with the way testing went this afternoon, have had no design complaints, one screen lag complaint which could very well be actual lag since all 8 people were in one room at the same time, and few spawn complaints (editting out the ones where teams forced people to spawn on top of them.)

Definitely a map where you have to control spawns, and flag and bomb are crazy fun. V2 up soon. I will resubmit it after testing tomorrow.

Well crud, I can't really post my feed back on the subject if you've made changes I can't see yet. :O
Aside from the minor issues such as spawning that you've already addressed, my only complain is the linear approach to the balconies. As of the moment the only ways up are via ladder or swapping sprint for a JP. Perhaps if there was some skill jump from objective up to balcony it would force a more dynamic flow on the map?

Heavy favorite to win the contest right here. At first, I was very skeptical about an Elimination map working well for MLG gametypes, but this map has single-handedly proven me wrong.

Rewatching that and realizing I could not hit my shots to save my life. I guess the lacking of teamshot on our side made that game kinda frustrating haha.
