well if you grab shot and dmr you can hold it down. however you need at least two to help and keep a good eye on the edge so you can see the ramp to put shots on any one before they try to come up the ramp

for objective games on countdown its always good to stay o top and outslay the other team.. stay on top of power weaps and around 930-920 and 330-320 be sure to start moving out in pairs for the rocket and sniper. if you know the other team is set up to outside for rocks you can always port up triple lift to get outside and push em out.. if it gets bad you can try and steal rockets and throw them off the map. but when you successfully have good top control get snipe up on your catwalk putting shots into the enemy base while you move objective (if its flag have the sniper move around top as the flag moves into your base) if you are playing bomb and have bomb close to their base and you get overwhelmed and outslayed you can use the bomb as bait and since they will most likely pick it up you dont always have to worry about it resetting...
again this is somewhat what i like but theres so many different set ups try watching pro footage and your footage to see what works for you.. over head view of footage can help you see how to set up smarter.. when it comes down to proper set ups most of the time it comes out to winning individual battles with team shooting
hope this helps

I know when I started playing h3 someone made a great thread on the mlg forums about setups and how to break them which helped me gain a great idea of how to position my self. Just try to stay near your team mates and always get top control. The best way for you to figure out "how to move" is to watch top players VOD.

Wow good to see everyone on here helping each other out a lot better than those gb forums lol

Don't have a favorite one. Sanctuary is the most popular though. Rush your car and nade their snipe and then dirty their snipe. Then if no teammate is on their car, spawn snipe them from there.
If you need more help mssg my gt.

Work on your mental game before anything else. Nothing's going to improve if you don't fix your attitude. (He's my brother. I can say that.)
And it's 99.99% likely Reflection will be gone in v3... thankfully.

Personally i didn't like it either because its hard to break a set up on that tower.

Haha, no can do. Set ups should be created as a whole team (if you have a team). You use whatever works for you the best and experimenting is key. Just keep trying new and new setups and see what you(r team) are comfortable with. Best of luck.
Edit*
But some obvious tips.
- Staying up top on any map usually works out.
- Stick in groups of twos at least.
............ - Try and organize the two groups to push into one spot from both sides and end up converging as one unit.
- Take advantage of your power weapons.
.............. - If you have a sniper, stand back and snipe with it. Don't go for glory shots, only go for them as a last resort.
...............- Rockets, use these to control spawns or heated areas of the map.
............... - Have your team set up so you can watch your teammates with the power weapons and make sure they don't die.
These are what I think are key to set ups or what I would do. Many people will disagree.

I have to agree with Antkeyyy on everything he said but I also want to point out two things.
When trying to spawn trap where you and your team are positioned on the map will be the difference between the spawn traps you want and dont want. If your curious about how this works go back into theater after a game and look at where your team mates are when the other team spawns and vice versa. Knowing where the other team might be based off of your spawn could be very helpful for those games when you have people with no mic or when no one is calling out.
Also the other thing I want to point out is that due to the changes that were made to the weapon spawns and how they spawn you can not dirty a weapon in Reach. Yes it was a big thing on Halo 3 and sometimes was the game changing factor but its not on Reach. MLG has it set up so the weapons spawn when they are supposed to regardless of whether someone has tried to "dirty" them or is still holding the weapon, it does no matter the power weapons will still spawn on time.Just something to keep in mind.

My Favorite map is Sanctuary because of the flow of people to map size and i loved the map in halo 2!

Personally I love Zealot due to the options of being sneaky as well as Countdown, there are so many different routes that can be taken that can break a set up and really disrupt a team. Basic set ups like AntKeyy said, revolve around keeping high ground and controlling power weapons. In Reach, controlling Rockets and Sniper are more critical than they were in H3.

My favorite set up is the one where I get sniped everywhere I go.
^^It's all part of the plan.

If you want to support your team at the beginning of the match grenade their sniper and sit car side, i always do that!
