What are you using to hook the Xbox up to the monitor? VGA cables? or component cables? If you want to get the full use of it you need VGA cables, i think they are like 40 bucks, and the settings should be something like 1900x1280 i believe.

Go to your System settings, select console settings, select display, and then Screen Resolution.

Your Syncmaster's native resolution is probably 1680 x 1050 so set the resolution to that. Or you can try 1080 x 720 (720p) or 19201080 (1080p).

The official MLG settings for Halo are:
Microsoft XBOX 360 VGA cable : http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox360/Accessories/CablesNetworking/xbox360vgahdcable
The resolution should be 1680x1050 (there should be a black bar on the top and bottom of your screen)
Reference Level should be Intermediate

Hope that helps :)

I believe that those were the old setting when they were still using the Viewsonics that wouldn't produce a 1080p picture. Now, from what I hear, they will be moving to the Acer H233H monitor which will allow the use of the 1080p, so the settings may change for next year.
