Sup everybody,

I'm pretty sure this is my first thread on the TLN forums. Anyway, I wanted to welcome the people attending the first Pros vs Joes coming up in 2 weeks. It would be really cool to know about each person coming. If your heart desires (and of course are on of the lucky few attending the gaming house) PM me about yourself or post in this thread. Please no life stories lol - keep it short and simple like your name/age/gaming exp/tournaments attended or any questions you may have. Hope you are looking forward to the great experience that is coming up!

Awh so nice of you Tom! Well, my name's Michelle, but most people in the gaming community know me as Shelly. I'm 20 years old, and gaming is a huge part of my life. I've been to Columbus and Dallas of the 2010 season, but unfortunately I haven't competed at any events. I have lots of LAN experience, and I get onto Reach for about 2-6 hours each night. Plans so far for the 2011 season are to coach, I've already been picked up by a team here on TLN, but eventually I hope to compete myself, once I feel my individual skill is up to par, I'll be looking into joining a team. Definitely looking forward to this amazing experience at the Gaming House! Also, a big thanks to you, and the rest of the pros, for extending your help with this amazing opportunty for the TLN community.

Dear David, stop settling as a fan who jizzs when he gets matched up with a member of instinct, and go to an event with a team get known and be so chill with all the pros that you dont have to depend on getting lucky with bungie..

HOWDY! Seems like only 1 member has posted so far (Shelly) stating they are going. I'll also chime in as I end my 14 hour work day.

I PM'd you already T2 but for the rest of you guys and gals on here, if you don't already know, my name is Sheldon and my friends call me Sheldon. I'm 20 years old and have been in to Halo (competitively) since H2 but I've never attended a MLG event....always horrible timing, distance, or too broke to go. However I do catch as much of the events on the stream as I can. I do plan on attending multiple (hopefully all) 2011 season events as part of a team or at least as a spectator.

I'm ridiculously excited about going to the Gaming House and can't wait till the teams get drafted so we can start the tourney side of things.

EDIT: If Shelly isn't on my team...she's going down. ;)

Never been to an event but have been to LAN's. I don't know how many of you guys have played with me but if you have then you know how good I am and why I play with many pros. I guess all you will just have to wait and see for yourselves :) Oh and if any of you ever wanna warm up in octagon with me, message me on XBL, I could always use a good octagon warm up before running MLG playlist.

Hey whats up guys! I already PM'd T2 but I figured I will let my presence be know here. Anyway, my name is Brian I'am 25 years old and from the great ole state of NJ. I got into the competitive side of gaming back in the beginning of 2005 like many other people, My friends were really really good at H1 and H2 and I was tired of getting destroyed. So my obsession with MLG and gaming took off and I never looked back. Always as more of a fan though, I never made it out to events due to an array of circumstances. Although I did attend Raleigh as a spectator and that was an awesome weekend.

I can not wait to meet everyone from the community, I feel like I know everyone's personalities just from gaming a bit together and the posts they make. It should be a weekend that no one is ever going to forget. Also thats awesome you are going Kwame, your blog was very inspirational to me, and now I will not be the oldest one going lol.

Safe travels to everyone attending and see you guys and gals soon. And maybe event at an event or 3 in 2011 :).

I have been into competitive MLG gaming since Columbus,'09. Over the past several years I have competed in Columbus, Orlando, Dallas, Anaheim, and Denver (Dorritos Combine) - every event has been with a last minute team.

2011, I am hoping to create a team in the next couple of months to be much more prepared for the season opener.

Lunchbox, Roy, Totz, Walshy, Neighbor, and Clutch have been great friends and mentors. I really appreciate all their support.

Dr. Pepper Rob (Brother Rob), has been the greatest friend ever - if you been the MLG events, I am the kid in the wheelchair who hangs out with Rob and Jay.

Looking forward to the Pros vs Joes!

Hey all. I'm considering going to the pros vs joes camp. I fear I may be too unskilled to realistically contribute to a team and just be the 38 year old jerk with 600 extra dollars.

Be honest please, am I good enough to attend this camp? My gamertag is brad n toronto, I have dipped into gold briefly on team arena, hit 43 in team slayer and lone wolves in H3 although I hovered around 41 mostly. I did not play much of the mlg list in H3 and think I got to a 24 or something.

My shot skill has plateaued but I am always learning new things about positioning and strategy. I always play with randoms as I don't have many friends into halo.

So please give me your honest opinion about whether I should go, I can take it.

Hey Brad,

I just checked your Bungie.net profile since you provided your gamertag and I think you play enough games per day to attend Pros vs Joes. Quite frankly you've played more Halo: Reach games than me (gamertags: Instinct T2 and Big Daddy T222). This is your own personal experience - if you want to get better at the game this is the best way, especially since you don't have the "MLG hours" put in compared to other players. Shooting isn't as much about aim as it is position yourself and getting the first shot on the opposing player...there is always room for improvement in every aspect of Halo. I would assume your goal would be to learn the MLG style of play and hopefully improve your individual skill along the way. Ask Kwame - or read his Lan Network blogs - learning the way pros play Halo will only increase your enjoyment for the game.

I so wish I had $600 extra dollars. After an experience like this, you'll be kinda "in" with the pros. I know at Dallas I felt like I didn't want to take too much of a pro's time talking, as they would get irritated, but I believe a lot of people who go to this LAN will be able to make actual friendships with the pros. That in itself is an awesome thing to think about.

Good luck to everyone going. I am making it a priority to buy a streampass for this.

Name's Eli, and I'm 23. I saw a few of the USA productions in '06, but never got to play Halo until '08. Lived in Hawaii for 4 years, but still made it to four events through '09 and '10. Never competed, but I've always been more of the spectator type. Met some really good friends at past events, and have run LANs at the hotel room. I'm just looking to have a good time, and see the house. If anything skill wise, I would just like to improve to the point where I keep up with all the friends I've made through Halo.

P.S. - I would have gone to Str8 camp but I felt I was too old. Kwame, you're my inspiration! ;D

Good to see another Joe get signed up Eli. I did a silent lol to your worry you were too old to attend str8 camp at 22! Kwame is paving the way for both of us.

I'm signed up now so get ready for some personal details. My name is Brad (GT: Brad N Toronto) I'm 38, married and father of a 14 month old daughter. I have an engineering degree, live in Toronto and develop flash games and other web applications primarily for Canadian TV shows.

I've always loved FPS from Wolfenstein at the very beginning and on through the rest. I got into halo 2 multiplayer and gave up pc gaming because of it. During halo 2 I became fascinated buy the jerks of halo 2 on xbox live and started trolling them while playing, making recordings of them arguing with huge soundboards I created of Dr. Phil and Mr. Rogers. Check out the best recordings here: http://soundspoof.com/index.php?cat=thebest and watch out for offensive and pants peeingly funny content.

I started following MLG just at the end of halo 2 looking to get better. When MLG came to Toronto I went and had a great time. Although I'll never be close to the best skill I will try to enjoy the journey and take inspiration.

Send me a friend request as I'm on most nights after 10:00 and am looking to get some objective practice in before the camp. See you on the 14th.

Brad, couple things...
- I'm old too, but young at heart. Virtually everyone who I play against, in the playlist is better than I am, but that said, am I going to stop playing? not a chance. I'll never get better playing against my little sister. (ps send me another FR, sorry, i didnt mean to deny yours last night!)
- http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=412595169&player=TLN%20Kwame this is a game i played last night, while i was playing with Lunch. I learned more in this game, than i think i have in the last two weeks combined. I found neighbor and heinz in places and taking routes that none of the normal people that you play against, ever even try, nevermind pull off. Playing against players of this caliber, can only make you better, without question. On the flip side of that...I'm lucky enough to get to play with some of the pro's as well. Their level of communication is unmatched. It's not quantity, its about quality. Not just the obvious "he's one shot at snipe spawn." Last night one of the call outs Lunch gave us on a sanctuary flag game was "he's weak an snipe spawn with rockets, i fired two before i died and he has to reload, hes going their courtyard" This allows me to know, a whole wealth of knowledge, as to what im about to encounter when i rush their court...if i get there fast enough, there will be a guy in the middle of a reload, who is weak, and his a huge priority to kill, as he will have two rockets.

That's just one example, but these are things that you learn/pick up playing with these guys. Sometimes your shot is less important than your communication...in that same example is was much more important for Jason to tell us where that guy was heading/trying to hide, to give himself time to reload, than even if he had survived and 5'd the next guy. Their rocket player becomes the #1 priority at that stage...(obviuously if he had survived he would still ahve the rockets, but you get the idea)
- Most importantly, they are a great bunch of guys and it will be a lot of fun. Just don't touch Tom's chair when he's gaming :)

Great to hear. My skill limit is not from lack of trying I can assure you. I'm dropping the hammer on this which in my case means clearing it with wife's work schedule and our child care situation. Then I'll sign up. Thanks T-Squire :p

Cool Kwame. I'm aligned with your concept. I sent another friend request.

My communication is good and I try to do exactly what you are saying, describe the situation. I err on the side of quantity over quality but I am working on it. Some kids call me a try hard but I see that as a virtue. Haters gonna hate.
