which of these programs is better to make a montage? Windows Movie Maker or Pinnacle Studio 12? please feel free to leave an explanation of why you think or know that program is better.

Neither of them programs are any good TBH, what you want is Adobe Premier Pro, Or Avid. Either of these will take some getting used to, but will make the best montages.

Avid would be better for flashy edited, but Premier Pro is much easier to use IMO.
Avid is available here

And premier is available here

K thanks a lot :D
wow i was about to download the adobe one but it runs on a 64 bit i run on a 32 bit and avid is way to expensive but thanks anyway :)
If it was me, i would use Sony vegas pro 9 or 10, not much difference between them... its pretty simple and can do some great things.

Yea they are expensive, they are professional products used to edit TV shows and films. I don't know of any free software that would be good enough to edit Montages on sorry :(

Yeah I mainly use Sony Vegas and then Cinema 4D for the 3D stuff, but there is good cheaper stuff out there too.

windows movie maker is what i used to edit my little nubtage and it worked well for the price (free) and it was very VERY simple to use and it had some perks.. you wont become the next Phurion for it but if youre looking for cheap and convenient thats the way to go

A lot of the professional programs have free 30 day trials as well. So it might be a good idea to check those out whether it be to see if you want to buy it or just pump out the montage during the trial period. Here is a good place to start.

Watch some tutorials and you should be able to get the hang of it somewhat quickly if you put the effort in. Should make for some great editing, and I look forward to the outcome. Cheers.

i recommend either avid or final cut both are a little on the costly side but are so worth the money. movie maker is just a basic software that gives you little to no room to edit and the quality is crap. if you have DAW (digital audio workstations) such as pro tools you can use that as well to do some video editing...sony vegas as pupp3t mentioned is a really good program as well very....but honestly what are you using?? mac pc how old this all goes into choosing a good program. if you can afford it buy a mac book with final express and that will give you a good jumping point. Good luck though i plan to get a pvr after taxes and start getting videos and what not and editing them
