They've already picked it up, in a way, it's going to be at the next combine, probably a test run to see how the players like it and see if it is truely competitive, if it's too inconsistant and what not H3 might just be on the circuit another year, but if it lives up to the hype, hello Reach for the circuit in 2011.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new maps that come out because of forge 2.0 and also all the old maps returning.

Reach looks like there is enough options to tweak to make it as competitive as possible. I wouldn't worry, Killa Kc's got your back.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a competitve game, it combines H1 and H2 elements which A LOT of us older players definitly missed, and aside from that it being a NEW halo game, not like any other, makes the intrigue and the drive to do disgusting things in the game that much bigger.

I'm pretty sure for competitive settings there arn't going to be any enabled? The only one I see them defaulting to is the Sprint mechanic but I just think that for MLG its going to be disabled, but for regular MM the attributes are going to be hilariously fun, lol

I'm pretty sure it will fit very well into MLG because it is so customizable. The new Forge abilities also make it so that almost any map that you can think of is available to make which will help give MLG a good choice of maps to chose from.

I think were going to see a lot of return maps from Halo 2 from the new forge for MLG events, but then again they could want to come up with completely new competitive maps, to just make the game THAT much more new and fresh to the players, something to be excited about again.

They are probably going to try them out for DC and Dallas. We'll see how AAs do then.

Halo Reach will be much better competitively for MLG than Halo 3 was. I would go into explaining all the reasons why, but that'd be far too much, and most of it can be found in the Reach Discussion Thread on mlgpro.

I'm hoping it will be a great game and I believe it will be to. I think that for the MLG settings they should attempt to take off all the perks though or maybe leave it to the sprint perk. I just don't like how Halo is becoming a CoD in a way, it scares me.

I am excited for reach, I think it will bring a much need change to MLG. It is just impossible to keep the same game for more than 3 years. Halo 3 has run its course and I am sure all the pro are looking forward to the change to reach.

Reach is more of a combination between Halo 3 and Shadowrun IMO. One of the lead designers for Reach was a lead designer for Shadowrun. You can obviously see a lot of elements that were implimented into Reach.

OT: I personally didnt enjoy Reach in the Beta. Thankfully it was a Beta and they have supposedly fixed most of the things that bothered me. Hopefully with a wider variety of maps and a more refined game i will enjoy it. With all the settings it has it can compensate for any little thing that is wrong, like in Halo 3 with 110% speed and damage modifier. But overall this is a whole new game, its going to be a big transition.

There will definitly be more maps, there's no doubt, but if we wanted to go out on a lim it'd be a mix of Shadowrun, H1-H2, and Call of Duty, the loadouts I'm not sure of, like I said putting Rocket Packs and Invincibility into the game seems to make it...while more strategic...more dumb IMH. If they were going to use any it'd be Sprint, Rocket Pack could be abused to much...Can you imagine having 8 Camo'd players....come on, and invincibility is just stupud to have...so if any it'd be Sprint.

The hardest challenge will be to get use to the DMR, pistol, and needler rifle all at the same time, because all three will likely be weapons in mlg settings, If we have armor abilities in mlg that will be a whole new dimension, the only two AA's I would want are evade and sprint.

it wouldnt surprise me if the MLG playlist only allowed your to pick Spartan with Sprint... I cant see any other abilities even coming into the minds of KC and the other testers at MLG

I don't see how you guys think there is a problem with evade, the spartan evade isn't as dramatic as the elite one. IMO it would be just another competitive aspect, by incorporating a side step into your strafe, or using it to juke your opponent if your on the losing end of a DMR battle, Its similar to the Gears of war roll as well, I dont see them not having it, but to each his own opinion. I haven't used the evade as a spartan yet, but given my ideas end up being correct, I see my original statement of them allowing sprinting and evading to be true.

Nah, if any it will be sprint, mark my words. I just got done listening to gamescom and it looks like Area in Reach will be the competitive thing to play. Anything outside of arena there is no number rank, lol, so if you want a number go play arena, which I think is going to be the starting point of MLG.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I like using the needle rifle more than the DMR (although I like the DMR as well) so I hope if it's not the secondary starting weapon at can at least be pretty easy to find on a map like the Carbine in H3

You see i think that your going to start with the DMR and no secondary, but instead of having Extra DMR spawns arround the map we will have Pistols, and there the carbine would usually be you will get Needle rifles.

yes. it'll be much for customizable than halo 3 is with forge 2.0, not too mention we haven't had a glimpse at what we can do with custom games yet. the options in firefight that they've shown us so far lead me to believe custom game options will be absolutely insane.

Ha i was thinking the same thing. I gRaped at GoW so thats some what appealing to me. But honestly i think sprint should be the only AA in MLG. If there is a way to take of AA i think that would be the best way to go.

Alright, I just posted this in the Reach Discussion Thread on MLG.

Here are my settings as of right now:

Weapons:
-DMR
-NR
-Pistol
-Plasma Pistol
-Sword
-Grenade Launcher
-Rocket Launcher
-Sniper Rifle
-Focus Rifle (if they decreased the aim magnetism)
-Shotgun (if it's not OP)

As for Armor Abilities (on map, not loadouts):
-Hologram
-Jet Pack

As for Loadouts:
-Primary: Pistol, Secondary: DMR, Frags: 2, AA: Evade
-Primary: Pistol, Secondary: NR, Frags: 1, Plasmas: 1, AA: Evade

And we'll find out how the Concussion Rifle plays.

I think Halo:Reach is going to do very well. Watching the ViDocs has shown that they have changed a lot of the game from the beta, mostly for the better, and it will do very well. I have it pre-ordered and can't wait to play it. Till then I'm stuck with Starcraft 2 and Halo 3, which I don't think are bad choices ;)

Dude I just can't wait for forge world! I'm sure most of you saw the vidoc... Hopefully it will be a masterpiece cause I can't wait to design maps that secretly favor my skill in order to play my buddies on! I'll see you all September 14th! :)

I don't know if anyone else said this, but I heard that MLG will not be a playlist when the game first comes out. However, I heard that MLG is helping design maps.

What I heard is that Bungie gave MLG Forge World because Bungie does not like making symmetrical maps. Which MLG favors for Objective Gametypes. I just hope they at least made a few so we won't be playing on ALL Forged-type maps.

Vid is awesome. The skybox on Glacier looks fantastic :) Although it is more Firefight, when what we all want is more MP maps to drool over. But still, very cool :)

I'd like to see them experiment with some settings like this. But I think whatever MLG chooses to do will be fun to play.

I have just watching that video, and Evade is ridiculous. Evading and being launched into the air over snipe bridge while still evading.

I am not liking it. I would also like to point out that i am not a fan of being able to evade in any direction, while strafing left and right would be fine. But leaping towards your enemy just seems a tad Op to me.
