Hey, you guys might know me; i won the first TLN Tourney playing with the team Heroes. My team [Me & Solid Bob] are currently looking for two people to team with for the 2011 season, GB, and locals.

Requirements

* Lives in Texas: we plan on LANing at least once a month and going to locals to get ready for events.
* Maturity: Age isnt specific but we want someone who isnt childish. We also need someone we can all get along with. Getting a long and cohesiveness is a must.
* LAN/Tournament EXP: We all LAN a few times a month and have been competing since as far back as H2.
* Willing to learn from mistakes and take a loss: everyone loses. Learning from what you did wrong has a greater impact than just getting upset or bailing.
* Dedication: We are on running games 2-3 hours a night. We understand you might have other stuff going on, as so do we but we do need to see some dedication.
* Willing to travel to LAN/Tournaments around Texas.

All of the above criteria is very important but not every point needs to be hit.

Message me here or send a message to my GT: B r w n
We will run games with anyone interested. Any questions feel free to ask.

Hey I'm already with Taco but Watch and Learn would be interested in that Denton LAN for sure. Especially since half our team is from Dallas now. And the Heroes would probably be interested too.

SolidBob

I could hook you up with some other teams that would do a LAN over spring break. Most likely I wouldnt be able to make it. I go home to SA over the break.
If we could do something between now and spring break in Austin that would be great. Its pretty much in the middle for everyone.

You guys might want to find someone local for LANs, but open up your search for your actual team. just a suggestion, cause thats what we ended up having to do.

I personally recommend this team to any FA that wants a solid team. If you get practice going regularly then you guys really have the potential to be a seriously dangerous team.

Willing to travel for LANS
im 17
ive been playing since h2, that was mostly PC though, with just a couple months of xbox
i have work every other day which keeps me out till around 7:30, and then school work. So i don't know if i could always run 3 hours a night. On my off days i run for about 4hours, work days maybe 2 probably one.
As for LAN exp, ive done a few local, mostly with buddies and stuff, i tried to sneak in to gamestop black ops lan and they turned me away because im not 18 :(

Solid Bob, I just saw this tourney and I'm interested for sure.
My GT is Renyinn
Please note that I screw around online-I can definitely do better than my old top40%onyx if I give the effort(and have a team)
If I'm on a team(which I've been wanting) I'm going to take it seriously.
I live in Abilene(Texas), I'm 21, and I have local lan experience.
If you want to know anything about my playstyle or anything, you can message me on live or I guess on here if that's easier actually.

Yea, i got your msg. yea, we'll try to run some games with you, maybe tonight? maybe though. But, about playstyle, we don't go by roles, we basically want a person that can do everything, all around; pick up a sniper and dome when needed, and run flag fast when needed. Sorta like ROY lol. But yea, we'll try you out.

No problem, I hope I'm demonstrating that(no scopes at he beginning of countdown and flag run on zealot. I'm in some habits right now that I'll try to break. I'll also learn the callouts quickly. Are you getting on today? With college, I'm really busy today, but I could still put in the only free hour I have today 4:45-6 central time if you guys will be on. Otherwise I'll work on my stuff so maybe I can play more tomorrow.

Hey, if you're still trying people out, I'd be interested. I live just north of Dallas. Actually, I think I may have just played you the other day in MM. I was playing with iDanJan and TLN HOV and one other guy. We beat you on Countdown TS pretty bad :D

But yeah, let me know if you guys are still running games. And if not, at least let me know when you guys plan to LAN, as I'd definitely like to get to meet some locals.

I think I may have just played you the other day in MM.

Yea I remember, we were running with one of our friends that doesn't play mlg. we kept on getting matched up with people that were really bad thanks to the true skill system that they use so it was surprising that we got matched up with you guys. I think he went neg. 11 and the other guy went neg 5- but that's ok b/c me and solid went positive lol and we only lost by 12. Anyway yea we'll try running games with you.

Dude that is so nice! :) But I don't want to rush on finding a good team to risk later falling apart, so if we take to long start without us. Much appreciated though.

Still looking?

I live in Irving. I'm going to every event this year, regardless of team situation, but I'm in it to win. I have LAN experience, but due to the fact that my competitive gaming started while I lived in Japan, finding quality players was more of a hassle than you can imagine. Thus the quality in LANs was naturally diminished. And I'm pretty sure no one else is as used to playing with 1200+ms of latency, but that's not exactly a translatable skill to LAN play, now is it?

If you just want to run games and see what I'm about, then let's do that. My GT: PSYCHOLOGICA (spelled correctly) If you want to read a bit about me first, then keep going. : )

I will say that without a doubt you will not find someone more willing to put everything he has into winning events. I am looking for equal devotion in any teammates I will have this year. Some people have flamed me pretty hard for saying that I'm in it to win, and not for top 24, or top 16, or top 8, but that's okay. I see it as a state of mind that sets me apart, and will eventually allow me to achieve my goals.

Here's a bit of an honest breakdown about my current skill set, using numerical scales of 1-10, 10 being absolutely perfect and never making any mistakes respective to the category. If it seems I will be a fit to your team either now or with the growth to come, then I'd love to run games to see if anything clicks, and we'll go from there. Obviously it's impossible to gauge whether a player will be a good fit for your team, especially when it comes down to the wire, by simply looking at what could be some randomly conjured numbers and inconclusive babbling. But, I want to offer you as much information as possible. Hopefully it's not too superfluous.

DMR - 8 - My DMR shot actually surprises me once I'm fully warm. I honestly don't lose too many 1v1 DMR battles. Obviously, I don't win every one, or I would rate this a 10. I'm not sure what I'm doing that other people aren't, other than keeping calm and not spamming shots uncontrollably. Unfortunately this is currently one of my greatest assets as a player. This will change soon.

Sniper - 7 - I'm better with a Sniper Rifle than I should be. I never pick it up unless the situation demands it. It is quite rare for me to rush the weapon though.

Reflexes - 7 - My reaction time is very quick under pressure, but usually only when it comes to technical execution, rather than decision-making. Something I'm looking to improve upon.

Game Knowledge - 6 - By game knowledge I mean pretty much everything. I'm using this rating to give you an idea of how consistently I know what to do in any situation, going beyond simple ideas like when to slay and when to go for an objective. Obviously, 10 is not where I'm at currently. I would say that I know what I should be doing about 60% of the time. But be honest, how often do you completely analyze every situation in game? Every minor one? Hopefully you see the weight I am putting on this scale.

Decision-Making - 7 - I consider this how well a player translates the knowledge of what to do in any situation, and actually plans to implement it in-game. This happens very quickly, and it is a very unconscious thing that develops as you play the game more and more. You could net this in a category with Game Knowledge, but I feel they are distinct, just as intelligence and acumen are their own separate levels of human intellect.

Awareness - 7 - What can I say? Sometimes I get distracted by my own mess, especially when I catch fire, and I lose focus sometimes on certain parts of a given game. But generally, I am aware of what is going on at different locations on a map, and almost always aware of what's happening in my immediate vicinity.

Positioning - 6 - Okay. So I need some work here. Honestly, it's an easy fix. I'm so used to playing FFA gametypes that sometimes I end up in very odd places on the map during team games. Typically only happens in Slayer, and when it does in Objective, it usually results in some interesting ninjistics. Besides, I think this is more the result of a level of versatility I don't quite feel comfortable in claiming just yet. Happens when you go in with randoms for two years. What, do you think I could get a team with THAT connection? No way.

Teamwork/Communication - 6 - My ability to work as a team player is surprising considering my background. I am very unselfish as a player, and I simply don't see a point in stat-whoring. I'm good at keeping people level-headed, but the reason I rated this a 6 is that sometimes I just have lapses where I don't speak. Another quick fix. It's not a bad habit developed over time, but merely the result of having inconsistent teammates who sometimes communicate, but usually don't. Right now this is my primary focus. I am practicing constant communication, and with a team that responds to that with good communication will only make it that much easier to improve this vital skill.

Keeping Calm - 9 - I don't rage. I simply don't. Sometimes I get excited, but that usually only helps. I just don't complain. I think complaining is complete resistance against performing successfully. But I do not have a problem speaking up and making suggestions about what we should be doing if I notice we are doing something wrong as a team. But I try to keep it as positive as possible, and save any criticisms for later discussion. This is another thing I am seeking in teammates. The ability to remain calm under pressure, and to avoid senseless raging. Unless there's a rage contest. I'm down for those.

Now! If you have read all that, then I am very grateful for your time! Please understand that I am considering this professionally, and that is why I felt the need to include so much here. I want you to know how serious I am about winning, and I don't want to waste your time in your search.

Conclusion! This is a team game, and it is a team I plan to win with, not by myself. I have lagged behind in learning the game in-depth until now due to some personal issues, but those are behind me. And now with only two months left until Dallas, I'm putting everything aside and moving forward with my intentions. I do need to work on some aspects of my game, and I do not by any means claim that I am the best Halo Reach player in the world or anything crazy like that. Clearly, I am currently not.

But what does currently mean, anyway?

If you don't want to scroll back up or whatever,
GT: Psychologica
