How does this fantasy scoring work?

Well this is not my first fantasy, I have done several. But I thought I would check closer at the scoring this time. I am in 2nd place in my ladder by 3 points. So what I did was I added up all the point totals from both of our teams.
I had 3236
He has 3166

How does this scoring system work? Because it seems to me I should be in first place....

It goes by the average they got per game. His team probably had a few games where they had 11 less games played.
