Inverse symmetrical 2-base map designed to play in the style of Narrows, Pit, Beaver Creek, etc.

This should be the completed version. I was not completely happy with the version I submitted to TLN, so I continued working on it. It should look much more appealing to the eye now.

Map plays 5-flag, 3-bomb, territories, and slayer. It supports oddball, but I do not recommend playing it on this map.

Well, guess what! I went and looked at the MLG Map Submissions thread for the first time in... forever, and it turns out that the current map contest they're holding over at mlgpro is exactly the kind of map I made! They want a map that is longer than it is wide (doesn't have to be symmetrical). A map similar to the style of Beaver Creek and Narrows... That sounds exactly like Channel. My map is much longer than it is wide, and it's a 2-base map like both of the stated maps. Thus, this map is being submitted into both the TLN contest and the MLG contest.

Granted, I had to submit a not completely finished version to the TLN contest. However, I got to submit my finished version to the MLG one. =) I'm stoked.

Sick. I could easily see your map on the circuit. It has the simplicity of Onslaught, but plays very well and I could see some evolving strats used.

YES! I love the colors. Map looks good. If I had friends to play customs with I'd give more feedback lol.

One of the best maps I've seen on this game. Seriously nice work, very good colours considering how poor the selection is.
Unlike most forged maps it actually feels like a map, other than 2 bases, top mid and sides, has a lot of depth to it. I'd would love to play it properly, very good.

OT: Imp3nded, this is honestly one of the most fun maps I have played on. While it is possibly to get a setup and slay for 1-3 consecutive spawns, it also allows teams to break out of a trap and regain map control making for some very exciting games!

Not sure if you mean the forged maps or actual maps.

Thanks everyone for the comments. =) Emerald, you never were on when I used to test this map. I should start testing it again though soon because of the MLG Submission contest.

After watching that video I'm definitely gonna have to say that Snipe Spawn is a fairly over powering position, especially when the sniper has evade. I had no idea that APK was able to camp there that long the entire game... Perhaps if you did something to break up LoS from snipe spawn because as it currently stands, the only path from base to base that doesn't intersect LoS is the water.

Well.... I do kinda suck at this game. Haha. And two of my team mates were certainly no better... So yeah, maybe if teams were balanced this wouldn't have been an issue after all. ;)

It was easy for him to abuse that position because he was playing in a CTF game with a "don't die, get kills, stay back" mentality. And your team was playing with a pure "objective" mentality. Just like in Pit when there's a guy with snipes on the tower, and all he is doing is sitting up there the whole game during an objective game. As you can see, once Nimbus got the sniper on your team, aPK was shut down.

The gameplan my team had was to have me grab snipe and stay back and play defense, while everyone else played offense. I decided, "Hey, if I had Evade and Sniper, I could definitely play defense by myself", so that's what I did lol. There was so much communication on our end, and I positioned myself accordingly, and it all ended up working.

Updated map:

- Sniper and Plasma Pistol spawn switched. (sniper now spawns in Channel, Plasma Pistol spawns on snipe street)
- Lighting effect removed.

This map has been chosen for the Community Forge League starting next week.
For those of you interested, its a round-robin league with monthly seasons and a continuously rotating map playlist.

At the end of the day, good map is good. I've enjoyed playing on it thoroughly, and will enjoy playing on it through out the coming months.

I think it's funny when I play maps like these with people and they start calling things out after like 5 minutes even though they've never played the map before. I still don't know the call outs on the regular maps lol.

Call outs are easy enough to figure out. After playing MLG for 3 or 4 years you will be able to figure out callouts for new maps. Granted they wont be perfect and will vary from team to team, but it simple enough.
