Discuss redbull's claim last weekend that their stream of the Carbon/HaE LAN was "Possibly the best professional stream of live Halo gameplay." They really have no clue. I feel sorry for them. Did anyone see that JTV quality garbage?

i seen it. definitely not the best set up. quality was average at best and only 1 POV the entire time.
although, i did like sayper's commentary in between games. if puckett were ever to come down to a LAN again it would be cool to have him give us some commentary over the basement cam or something.

I guess they don't have an account to TLN. ;)

It would be great to get some puckett commentary at TLN, but they would need one of those clip on boom mics for better sound quality, and so the teams couldn't hear him. Besides, he couldn't see all the screens at once so it would be difficult.

Agreed. With Redbull being such a large company I would've expected an HD stream with multiple POVs and not just one low quality stream.

I feel like he wouldn't do that or MLG wouldn't let him. I know one time Mr. P called him to get his thoughts on team changes and he wasn't allowed to say anything. Would be baller though to have him commentating and stuff and you could toggle team speak on and off to listen in.

Precisely what i was thinking, red bull has honestly lacked its sponsorship with Walshy anyways and this clearly shows how much knowledge they even put into knowing the game that their athletes play on. Red bull makes so much money off me alone that walshy could have new red bull edition astros and a Blackmagic intensity Pro cap card. i cant imagine how much more they make off others. Im Glad Carbon is LANning though i was afraid they weren't gonna do that. hopefully they will do better next time. Honestly RedBull should consider sponsoring TLN and inviting and paying for whatever team Walshy is playing to every TLN event. If they can build gay !^@ Ryan sheckler a Skatepark in his backyard they can pay for walshy's practice too.
*edit* i Stand Corrected, Walshy did receive New Redbull Astros *edit*
Mr. P needs to give them some tips.

It's possible to do commentary really easily but at this time the only way to include commentary by viewing all the screens is not. In the future if we do ever decide to invest to improve the streams/stations that we have and increase any number of povs then commentary is definitely something that would be brought up :D
Towey, you should make a thread of all UPCOMING/FUTURE TLN features and just update of how everything is going. It'll give the community a outlook of whats to come for TheLanNetwork as well as for you to let us know when we should expect the VOD to be put up and as well as for matchmaking streams.
I would suggest more frequent matchmaking streams. Some of us don't care who it is, just something to keep us occupied on the site besides the forums. Thanks.

no it's not TLN but the stream isn't terrible. It's free and even though I'm sure redbull can afford better it's rather rude and selfish to complain about something that a) works and b) is free. Also keep in mind that TLN didn't start out with the amazing quality it has now and had plenty of people complaining.

ok, i agree with some of the stuff you are saying, but they were showing the pov of their guy walshy, its not like they are paying any of the other people to play halo and wear redbull hats. so, why are you expecting them to be showing naded pov? idk to me i guess it could have been a little better quality, but the single pov (walshy) didnt bother me at all.

LOL completely agree. If the stream was at least decent quality I would not have cared that there was only 1 POV. But if you're only giving one option, you gotta try and get it right. Quite frankly I lose interest in it very quickly because of the low quality and the play just wasn't exciting. I've had it up every single day (that they've had it on) so far and nothing has really piqued my interest in it so much. Oh well, Raleigh is in a couple days. If Redbull does something like this again they should get a better quality stream. They make ridiculous amounts of money and this would pretty much cost them nothing.
