It's finished.

Well, in the Forge World thread I said I'd be working on a map that's inspired by three of the greatest maps from Halo 2 and Halo 3 (imo): Midship, Sanctuary, and Pit. I finally did a sketch-up of it. Of course there are things I need to add, and things that I have to fix based off of suggestions and critique I received from the forge forum on mlgpro.com. However, I figured I should post it on here, so guys could see how it's coming along. <3
I already know that the floor space is empty and there's a lack of elevation differences. I will work on both of those things. I'm still thinking of what to do with the main-floor space.

Description: Inspired by Pit, Sanctuary, and Midship.
Gametypes: CTF, Slayer, and KotH
UPDATED I've made improvements, and here are the new pics.
This is going to look cluttered, but it's not. It simply looks that way because of all the objects I had to merge into the floor to create slopes and elevation differences. The floor is actually smooth and clean.

Next picture is looking across bottom mid from Car 1 (underneath rockets) towards Halo 3 Pit's Custom Spawn (I will have hologram spawn here) and Runway (Runways is ALL THE WAY back in the distance). Custom Powerup will spawn on the main-floor in the middle of the ring (middle of the upside down rainbow). Rockets will spawn on the upper rainbow.

This next image is taken from the perspective of being over the sword room and looking across the mid-ring. The furthest point you see in the picture is where Halo 3 Pit's Long Hall would be. I will have Rockets spawn there in between the two short tunnels.

Just an update on how the middle is coming along. I definitely added varying elevations. (This is looking from Halo 3 Pit's Long Hall across the middle towards Sword Room.) Those are small slopes that are elevating on the very bottom of the screenshot. You can see I added another kind of rainbow-slope perpendicular to the original one, except this newer one is upside down and connects with the ground. I think this is where I will put Custom Power Up (in the middle of the bottom rainbow), and put Rockets on the upper bridge.

It's kind of hard to see what's happening on the bottom floor. It took a lot of merging and crap to make the floor feel natural.
I'll put the Focus Rifle where I said Rockets would originally be (where Halo 3's long hall would be on my map). This way it gives importance to that side of the map.
Snipers will be on S1.
GLs, DMRs, Pistols, CRs, and NRs I've yet to determine. I will probably put a Hologram where Halo 3's Custom spawned on Pit (which I have not taken a picture of this location, but it's there under swordroom)
I still have more floor space to work on outside the ring though.... sigh.
UPDATED AGAIN
Looking across the top of the map from above Sword Room. Car 1/2/3 is what you see in the distance. Car 3 will contain the Focus Rifle between the two mini-tunnels.

Thanks guys! Yea, it will be tough to forge. Hopefully I won't be a lazy bum. ;) And hopefully Bungie really meant it when they said they made forge easier to use, because I definitely would not be able to make this using Halo 3's forge.

I've google sketchup'd before, and this is amazing. awesome work man, i hope you can really take this idea somewhere. If it's a hit (which I imagine it would be) you'll probably find yourself pretty busy with requests, maybe even from MLG!

I hope this doesn't take you too long to make, I wanna play an epic map like this as soon as I can when Reach comes out :) It seems like forever until the release but its only a few more weeks!

Btw, I updated the third post with another picture to show how I'm progressing with the sketch-up. I added subtle elevation differences on the main floor in the center ring. I also added another rainbow bridge perpindicular to the first one, except this one's upside down and connects with the floor.

I think I'm finished with the sketch-up of the map. You'll see I improved on it a lot if you go back to the first and second post! Can't wait to forge it! JK, I'm dreading it.

This really does look awesome, but what are you going to do for the airlift to s3? Or just not going to have it? I guess i grav lift would work but i'm not sure if it will have the proper lift for geometry you know?

There will be a gravity lift. I just didn't have it to put in there, so I left it blank.

It's not ready for file share yet. Still going through the play-testing stages. ;) It's difficult finding 8 people, and when people say they'll play, they don't accept invites. ;/

Just thought I'd post a bit of constructive criticism just expanding on what was mentioned when we played yesterday.
Geometry
- Overall the layout is really cool, I really like the whole concept of it.
- The layout seems to favour the Green room more than Gold side, possibly because of the Sniper towers proximity to that area. I might be worth considering ways that you could balance it out a bit more. Possibly make Green a bit more enclosed (a la Sword room on Pit), or possibly try to make the Gold side more visible from the Sniper tower, though I don't really know how you'd achieve that.
- The Plat area seems to be a bit too staggered with little steps that require lots of little jumps, it might work better if it was a bit flatter overall with maybe one or two jump-ups on the front.
Gameplay
The gameplay felt really smooth and it felt like there were plenty of options whenever you get into a battle in terms of ways to escape or interesting routes around the map, so no real complaints there. :)
Weapons
- I think there may be a bit too much weapon/AA variety on the map, though it is large map to it wasn't too bad. I think that having a Focus Rifle on a map that already has two Snipers might be a bit of overkill, but as mentioned one Concussion Rifle/Grenade Launcher at Gold would probably work better than a Focus Rifle at Gold and two Concussion Rifles at Green.
- Only a small one, but I don't really think that Evade should be a pick-up now that we have the MLG settings with the faster movement speed, so maybe Hologram instead at Green?
Hope these comments help you out, I'm really stoked to have more people playing this map, cos it does rock dude. :)

Thanks Crash. :) I've already addressed the weapons issue. I moved Rockets to Gold where the Focus Rifle was. I moved the shotgun to where evade was in bottom green. I left the two Concussion Rifles where they were, except a little closer to Snipe Tower. I moved Evade to the upper arc where Rockets were before. I am not going to get rid of evade because of the fact that it's really powerful and it's handy to have. It's not an AA that people just look at and don't really care about. It was causing havoc when someone on the other team picked it up and was destroying with it... it was quite impressive. I know it's not in MLG settings, but if MLG were to ever consider this map, then they can fix that themselves and put what they want on there. I, however, like evade and feel that it works amazingly on such a big and open map like this.
You are the first person I've had say there's a lack of inclines and too many jumps. I actually made sure I used just as many inclines as The Pit did. If more people start complaining about this, I will fix it, but as of now it's not a top priority considering I have ran out of a lot of forge pieces and budget.
Thank you for the feedback. To hear that part about the gameplay is good, because it's the most important aspect to a map.

As of now, if you want to run 4s on it you'll have to message me. It's not released yet to the public (file share). That's what Crashdown did. He messaged me and we somehow (miraculously) got 8 people to play. Just make sure if you message me that you already have at least a party of 5-6 that are willing to play on a forged map.
Only around 30 people have seen the map, with around 24 of them actually playing an actual game on it. So far, all positive feedback. Good news.

I have now got the spawn system set. It also supports Slayer, CTF, Assault, Oddball, King of the Hill, Headhunter, Stockpile, and Domination (basically CoD's Domination gametype). I am trying to find people to playtest each gametype (which isn't going well, lol. Nobody joins). It's only been playtested for Slayer.

Thanks to all of the TLN guys that helped test CTF, Domination, TS, Stockpile, King of the Hill, Oddball, and Assault tonight! We didn't get to Headhunter, but that's not really a big deal lol. <333!! The map should be released either tonight or tomorrow.

Excellent news, Glad we did test it out TBH. Now when we have scrims on it i wont spend the first 2 hours looking for weapons and spawns.
