Hey all,
Can anyone hit me up with a Guide or How or which Capture Card I should buy and what accessories I need for it as I know Canadian Gym and Forefront have amazing quality on their Justin TV profile.
I have 6-7 mb internet is that ok for a HD Card or? And I use VGA for my Xbox.
So if anyone can tell me what to get and a setup that would be lovely.
Cheers,
Inex.

Okay I can give you links to 2 really good capture cards. The HD PVR (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html) and the BMI (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/)
Those are both 2 really good cap cards. I don't believe you can cap with a VGA cable, but I am not sure. XsilentXbyteX has a BMI and really knows what he is doing so I am sure that if you PM's him he could help you out.

Hey all,

As mentioned by RagingChickens, the Blackmagic Intensity Pro (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/) and Hauppauge HD PVR (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html) are the two most popular capture cards, simply because they were two of the first true high definition capture cards made for the average consumer. The BMI is the superior card in terms of quality, with the new "Shuttle" external version capable of capturing at full 1080p @ 60 frames per second. However, you're going to need not only a computer with a fast processor and a lot of ram, but you'll also need at least 3 hard drives configured in a RAID 0 to capture in full uncompressed HD. On the other hand, the PVR is much more system friendly, and is much less demanding than the BMI. The PVR will work on most computers, and captures at a slightly lower resolution (can do 1080i but 720p is it's optimal capturing resolution).

In terms of streaming, your going to have to take a look at what your upload speed is. What you listed there is most likely your download speed, and you'll have to check with your ISP or run a test at Speedtest.net (http://speedtest.net) to see what kind of upload bandwidth you have available. The reason upload is important for streaming, is that you will be essentially continuously uploading your video feed to the internet while at the same time playing on Xbox Live. That will use a lot of bandwidth, so make sure you have at least 1mb/s upload if you plan on doing any streaming.
As far as your stream's video quality is concerned, that is all dependent on the bitrate you use. Simply put, the higher the bitrate, the better you streams quality. However, the higher the bitrate, the more bandwidth your stream will require, making less bandwidth available for Xbox Live.
I hope this information helps. You will probably have to do some more research yourself to decide what capture card you ultimately go with. I have personally owned both the PVR and the BMI, and have successfully streamed using both.
