Hey everyone,

I would like to begin this thread by introducing myself a little bit to the people who do not know me. Hi i am Dylan and i am 15 years old. I am 5'11" and weight 210 lbs. Now i don't look like i weight 210 but i have tried so hard with working out and stuff that i just give up after like a week.( i wish i had someone like everytime i got on xbox to influence me and tell me to go and workout but ehh lol ). I've been fed up with working out so i decided why don't i try a weight lost diet.( i know joe fries posted a blog on this but i think i should used a real structured one ). I was thinking about starting weight watchers. My mom did that for a while and she said the food was really good and she lost weight. Now, I'm looking to get down to like 170, so i need to lose like 40 lbs. My issue is eating so thats why i decided a diet. After i lose the weight i would like to get back muscle. Anyone that does weightwatchers, can you tell me what it is like and how profitable it is? Also if there's anyone who wants to try and influence me to continue along my weightloss journey please add me on xbox or pm me? It would be a big help and would be awesome. I know i sound desperate but this weightloss thing is something i would like to achieve.

Thank you for listening and feel free to share your weightloss stories with me. I feel if i can lose weight i will fit in more with certain people and hopefully pickup a few girlfriends along the way.

I would stay away from weight watchers, personally, because it may help you lose weight overall (with cheap tactics), but you will not become more healthy. With WW you will just be eating the same food that is bad for you, but in smaller portions. Of course you will lose weight, but you will still be toxic and the process will take a very long time. If you want a really structured diet you can stick to, then I can create one for you. Also, when you start to build back up, I would suggest doing it naturally and using a type of Hemp protein free of additives and other garbage.

ummm, i have no clue, haha, you can weigh yourself before every treadmill run and maybe you can take an estimate on how much you can lose in a week, and try to eat better before you did before, and take any chance you have to workout, maybe like going to the mall and walking all over the place, or groceries shopping you can hold the heavy stuff, idk, it really helps, i was kinda fat when i was in the 6th grade, and i lost about 5 pounds a week trying to workout and job every morning and afternoon, hope this helps and hope you can reach the goal you want! goodluck man! dont give up!

good luck dude. weight loss isnt easy. only thing i would recomend is eating a healthier diet, stick away from fast food and instead of getting something cheap and fatty when u do go out, try getting veggies and shit like that. and start running. not alot at first but work yourself into a routine and try to constantly push urself to run farther or faster.

I will tell you a little about myself.

Two years ago I was 5'10'' 260 lbs. I was a sophomore in highschool. Now I am 6'1.5'' 200. But between sophomore and jr year, I was 6'1 185. The way I lost all that weight was this:

Eating healthy - I would eat healthy 6 days a week and have 1 day where I could allow myself to slack off a bit. Eating healthy does not mean all vegetables or all fruits. I would still eat lean meats like skinless chicken or Venison. You can eat yogurt, sandwiches, and pasta.

Cut out bad things - I completely stopped eating any candy and drinking soda or sugary drinks. This is almost a must and you will see results very quickly!

Cut out dairy - Not a requirement to lose weight, but I only would drink skim milk or soy. This also means no cheese or yogurt. But if you cut out cheese and only drink skim milk or soy milk it will benefit you. Almond Milk is also a quite tasty non-dairy replacement.

Exercise - For me, exercise is boring. I had to do a bunch of things until i found what worked for me. And lucky for me it was running. I would run about 2-3 miles every other day and the days i didn't run, I would do arm and upper body workouts like push-ups, sit-ups, and pull-ups. This might seem like a lot and it is. You should have at least 1 hour every day where you are doing cardiovascular workouts (jumping jacks, squat thrusts, running, etc.).

You don't have to follow all of these, you can mix them around but I lost a little over 2lbs a week on average until I was 185.

Hope this helps you and good luck :)

Edit: I have also done weight watchers and it is ok but as Joe said your eating the same food just less of it. Honestly don't go on a "diet". You should just think of it as living a healthier lifestyle.

My advice on working out is to find an activity that you genuinely like to do, and use that instead of a set plan. I use skateboarding, surfing, and, if I don't get enough, rock climbing. Try to find a climbing gym near you if you like climbing, or maybe take up snowboarding. Even if you go outside and play snow tag or have a huge snowball fight with your friends, that is still a workout.

well my weight loss story is in early 2008 i was 6ft 380lb and by late 2009 i was at 240lb but right now I'm back up to 270lb cause i had to take off all 2010 due to surgery. I'm starting to workout and dieting again and hopefully by the end of the year to be down to 200lb. The way i lost weight before was a vegetarian diet so all i ate was vegetables, fruits, and tofu(I ate 5 times a day 3 regular meals and 2 snacks in between the meals) and drank a lot of water. I drank around 10 16oz bottles of water a day. I worked out twice a day i did my cardio in morning and my muscle training at night. I hope this somehow helps you. :) what also helped me a lot was the lose it app on my iPhone to keep track of everything that I ate.
