View Full Version : Repeating History?
I have never liked being on the bandwagon. Actually, there are many times i have changed my trivial beliefs just to be unique. However, people can get the wrong idea about you through jumping to false conclusions. In 2008 Team Classic became the definition of online warriors through winning the MLG holiday 4v4 and the fall playoffs. I've always had a little passion for online teams, mostly because they are underestimated. Team Classic put everyones suspicions about them to rest once they placed 2nd in the first event for Halo 3. No one with a good source of knowledge about MLG can honestly say that Team Classic is a bad team.
History may be repeating itself my friends in the form of team Darkest Hour. Needless to say, Darkest Hour is a pretty well established team from D.C. and Dallas, but they are certainly earning their keep with their new rooster for Halo Reach comprised of 4 very skilled players: Mattidors bold player of the year: Goofy. Legit, holding 3 first place finishes and having taken part in 4 all star classics. Naded having both the 2009 Pro's Choice Best Power Weapon Control, and 2009 Stride Championship Player of the Year awards. And Twylight just a nasty, underrated player.
People from all across the MLG community, and even, sadly, within our very own TLN community seem to belittle this team. Darkest hour doesn't have "god host" and they aren't "lucky" either. They work hard for their accomplishments, and they deserve every bit of respect for doing so.
I am willing to bet that Darkest Hour WILL be a force to be reckoned with at the opener in Dallas just as Classic did in 2008. Being an online warrior brings you with an extremely heavy burden, but Darkest Hour will bare it all.

Classic kind of fell off after that first event ;) I'm sure you're right though. They definitely look good right now.

agreed, if tournament was tomorrow DH to beat Instinct in Finals. We'll see if they can hold onto their edge over the next 8 weeks, hopefully they can get a lan in because this Instinct squad is gaming hard with tons of LAN practice. I think this opener will be one of the most exciting MLG events ever.

kinda of funny if you think about it the "best" teams at this point are all teams that did go to nationals...
FB, Instinct, sQ, and tD better game so fucking hard in these next few months if they want to stay on top in the halo world.
TD will be fine. They are a sick team

The Darkest Hour name has been around since 2009 from what I know. But they sucked back then. This new DH is a monster squad and shouldn't be underestimated.

If you looked at the DH lineup and didn't think they were a force to be reckoned with before the GB 4v4, then you really don't know much about MLG. It was obvious this team was going to dominate.

I figured they were going to be good. I didn't know they would be this good though. They are rolling through everyone right now. Just have to see how it translates to LAN.

pst... ppl say DH won cuz of monster host. This was done on Justin TV AND on our stream. Thus a majority of ppl dont know much about mlg in ur opinion

I think people say that DH has a good host. I doubt anyone discounts them completely. Case in point: Opener Predictions (http://thelannetwork.com/forum/showthread.php?1776-Predictions-For-The-Opener-In-Dallas-!!)
Most put DH in their top 3. Not everyone will predict them first place. You can huff and puff every last breath out of your body, and there will still be a lot of people that disagree with you. I like your theory though, and hope that DH does well.

i completely agree, because Darkest Hour is really showing already right out the gate in Reach that they are a force to be reckon with.
