Halo CE remake confirmed?

Not sure what they mean about new art assets or whatever but im really hoping for basically the same game with online multiplayer.

thats cool and all but really its only been 10 years... and we still have new halo projects out. its not like if they went and remade a rather old game YEARS later like when they Finaly remade (not remastered) Final Fantasy IV on the DS into Full 3D graphics.

CE was only on the circuit for a year. I think it deserves more than that, but yea they're probably not gonna trash reach after one season.

i but im saying they can make it flashy by updating graphics adding medels and showing the score at the bottom left. but its like Goldeneye for the N64 its sometimes better off left in our heads and on our shelves. when they remade Goldeneye it sucked and ruined alot of peoples Happy memories of the game. i feel like i have so many fond moments of Ramping Ghost on Sidewinder or playing 3 hours of Hang Em' High that truth be told i dont really desire to tarnish them with all new updates. i was a kid then and it was like playing with gold. CE is y we all bought 2 and 2 was why we all bought 3.

i never played halo CE, or even 2 so this would be nice. my halo days began right before str8 won nationals in '08 so i missed out on a lot (not that i haven't caught up thanks to mlgpro.com's 50th Event countdown!!!) i can finally see what everyone has been talking about with CE, that is of course if they don't alter it too much.

I was just about to buy the remake for goldeneye, does it suck that bad?

I really excited about this CE remake though since I never played the original online :(

to the people that never played CE you can buy it in the XBL Marketplace or go to a local Slackers or 2nd hand Gamestore and buy a copy for under 5-10 bucks. and enjoy it how we all did :)

You would think it would be pretty simple for them to remake a game perfectly that is nearly 10 years old, especially since a lot of them worked on the original.

I'm actually looking forward to it a lot. Even if it is different. It's another Halo game (and the one with the best campaign). The multiplayer will be fun even if they do change something things IMO.

I remember how freaking annoying the flood were to kill in CE. So much harder then they are in any Halo game since.

Agree with Havkin...I remember playing that map a million times on legendary and spending all night with my friend just slamming mountain dew all night playing it over and over and over.... Hopefully being 21 now and playing will be easier then when I was 11 playing it....My how the time has flown.

Why bring back old games? Great game but it's had it's time in the light......we are stuck with Reach they should concentrate on making reach better and more competitive starting with maps.

personally i think its a terrible idea
i understand that its the 10 year anniversary but if they wanted to do something for that day then just make a remake map pack or something
but to redesign a game (not by bungie or 343, but by Saber Interactive.. more on this soon)
to remake a classic with no one from the makers of halo and especially a game that was made by glitches
i would love to see halo 1 with online capability but thats why there was xbox connect.

this makes me upset in so many ways.. i would be more stoked to have classic map remakes that arent going to get slaughtered like blackout

And you know all the kids who came after H2 are gonna be stoked for it and then trash on it just as hard as they did Reach. :P

I am happy to see this happen but my only worry is that if the next halo dosen't live up to mlg standards could we see a back slide with the company and pros and head back to 1 and do it all again?

I would hate a mappack of remakes for Reach unless they adjusted the levels to go along with the running speed and jumping height set into Reach. That's one thing they didn't do for the remake of Ivory Tower and that's one reason I dislike that level so much. If they made a mappack of CE maps people would dislike them simply because they wouldn't feel right on Reach. I think remaking the game is a great idea. No I don't think you should throw out your original copy of CE. No it won't be the same as the original. Maybe it won't even be close, but my god it will be awesome.

I might actually cry when I get this game in my hands. I can'r believe it has been 10 years. I remember getting xbox on launch day and, after a brief stint on gamecube, I never looked back. I wish I could see the amount of hours I put into that game. I swear, I played more than anyone. 10 years. wow.

The best part about this article for me is the talk about keeping the original soundtrack. Without that score, Halo wouldn't be what it is today. This is very good news indeed.

I have serious doubts that they will be able to completely recreate the power of the weapons, the exact game physics, the glitches that people found, etc. In a new engine, some of the stuff that was done won't be able to be done again. That's the point of new engines. They change the way a game is made, and that will drastically alter the feel of a remake. It will bring back all the good memories for the casual fans, but I fear that for a community that is so focused on 'feel' and 'mechanics' it will only fall short.

Agree with Everything HavkinKnight!!! Golden Eye was sooo sick back in it's day, paint ball was the best.

I think Halo:CE online is gonna be amazing, I played a little bit with my friends after H2 came out and all I remember was it just being an insane amount of fun, However I hope they dont go too crazy with their updates, Halo:CE was classic in its very own untouched nature and hopefully it remains the game we all came to know and love
