View Full Version : Lagging out?
The past week ive been lagging out of matchmaking games. Im not laggy during the game but all of a sudden it goes connecting to new host then I lag out. Im not sure why. My nat is open and packet loss is excellent but upsteam bandwidth is warning. I have my xbox cord running through a sisco wireless router. Im not sure why it started doing this but its annoying. Ive never had this problem befor. Any help? Thanks

Do you disconnect from xbox live as well, because I was having the same problem. I have comcast and I had to call a worker to come out and do something to my conneection.

Yeah I'm lagging out a lil more than usual but I'm running Ethernet cable as opposed to wireless, and my connections are the same as your dibs idk what that warning means but mines said that ever since the game came out.
Should i run my wire stright from the modem to the xbox and see if i still have the problem. maybe its the router?

yeah try your wire straight to your modem and i do this because it gets you straight access not to get interfered by with other outside waves
I cant leave it like that all the time tho because i need my computer hooked up too. Im just wondering if the router i have times out or something.

I doubt it's the router. It's probably just your general internet connection. It's not going to be perfect all the time. I'd suggest calling your provider and seeing if they have been having issues.

Yes, wired=better. I have my ethernet running from my Xbox into a port in the wall which runs up the wall and through the ceiling to my modem. I think any way you configure a wired connection it will work great.

I lag out of party chat a lot too. If someone in the party has bad connection lagging out of the party usually happens, but im not sure about lagging out of games. Maybe Bungie just doesn't like you because they sure as hell don't like me! :p

I've noticed its been happening to a lot of people lately. I don't know if there is an overall problem or what. The last 2 nights i have barely even been able to play due to lag in game and almost constant black screens and people lagging out.

I play with Forbidd3n most nights before 9pm EST, and there aren't many matches where we don't go black screen at least once. I think Forbidd3n said he has Comcast, and that is who I have as well so it might be your internet provider. Or maybe its Bungie...I don't know. I also use a wireless router and I haven't had problems lagging out so your setup is probably good.
I busted out the 50ft wire and connected it stright. Im gonna play like this for a couple of days and see if it fixes it. The only problem now is I have a 50ft wire running through my house and it looks bad :/

I also have a cisco router and have been having serious issues with it.
Reaserch = low grade cisco routers time out and refresh when you have them running to multiple things. i think when it refreshes it lags you out of a game and not xbl because of the lag switch problems. It drops your connection to the host instead of acting like a lag switch.... Bungies fault :)
