Last night while p[laying i was told that Swat would be a good place to learn better bloom control for head shots...to me it sounds like a pretty good idea. but what say you the community feedback please.
I don't know, I would say play more MLG. SWAT has different rules. It puts you in a different mindset, which i'm not too convinced would carry over to MLG.
I'm a big fan of octagoning though. If it does help you though, then go for it. There isn't a right or wrong way to get better.

i think the help that would come out of it would be placement for the bloom cause i still have issues with lineing up a good spot but ya i know what you mean by different rules

I was about to say that. It really helps you learn to pace, and quickscope ;)

Personally I don't think that Swat really helps with bloom control that much, it does help with lining up your head shots better though. Its just that in Swat you are usually hitting your head shot to kill the opponent on your 1st or 2nd shot, sometimes even your 3rd. And the bloom is still easily manageable up to that point. When you are playing an MLG game you are hitting your head shot for the kill on your 5th, 6th or more. But at that point the bloom is much more of a factor because you have been firing longer. So it requires you to learn the proper pace after you fire your 3rd or 4th shots, depending on when you pick to let the bloom reset a bit.
But that's just my way of learning. I'm with Ecks Nine about Octagon though, its always been a great help for me. But whatever works for you. Those are just my thoughts about it.

hell no man any advice helps cause sadly most of my mlg kills come off rocks melee nades and what not head shots not so much so i really need to improve on it

I gotta agree with that. In SWAT you shouldn't have to pace 5 shots in a row often. So you don't get the bloom to a state it would be in a normal DMR battle, unless you have a slow pace.
If you do choose to play octagon solely use the DMR, let the other person snipe if they want to, but using the DMR for 15 mins straight without stopping helps a lot.

Benjack from the JvP camp turned me onto gruntpocalypse as a way to practice my dmr. I don't always have enough friends online who are interested in octagon. I play multiplayer exclusively and have no idea what the other modes in the game offer but gruntpocalypse does give lots of targets to practice on.

Swat gives you a totally different mind set sure some times its a fun warm up or if you are just down and want to dominate some people its good to play. I only played swat when there weren't any good playlists were out. Anyways Idk about good bloom control cause on your first shot your bloom is already where it needs to be. Technically all it should take is one well placed shot. I would just play mlg or arena if you want a more relaxed playlist.

My only take on it, like I said last night, it helped me improve aiming towards the head, bc I had issues where I could never hit the opponent in the head. Imo learn to aim for the head in swat or grunt firefight mode, then add on the experience with more intensity with octagon. Overall learning to pace shots after learning to aim for the head, would be my approach towards the issue

yea i like the grunt idea alot actually also nitro we need to play again tonight man like after nine i think we have friends coming over for dinner lol also we need to drag krillin in this time too
I think swat boosts map awarness. it plays out defferently because having the first shot is very important. Swat should help you aim for the head when you bloom is small but other then that mlg and octagon is best. pace your shots out to keep your bloom small so you can get your head shots better. then you can pick up the pace of your shots. come play customs with ego, havkin and i again :)

Octagon is really a bad warm up. You take shots you normally wouldn't take and it's an unrealistic environment so the placement and the angles wont be replicated in the MLG playlist. Yeah it might seem like it's helping but it's not as good as running practice scrims in a custom game lobby. Or even play team arena a couple times. Arena isn't great either but it's the next closest.

I think it depends on how you are playing SWAT. The way I see most people playing (Cautiously), I don't think it would transfer well in other gametypes. However, with how I play SWAT (constantly moving around, never standing still) it has helped tremendously improve my reaction time, awareness, and ability to keep calm under pressure.
But I agree with Makin for the most part.

Seriously the best way to warm up is mlg end of discussion the best way to get your bloom the way you want it is mlg and octagon. Thats not opinion its just how things are b/c mlg is actually doing it and octagon you don't have to focus on communication its just your shot. Idk about the whole grunt thing b/c grunts don't move like actual people so that one is up to you but seriously. Play the playlist and focus on your battles and bloom control you don't have to worry about rank or your team if you go in alone. just play to better yourself first.

i think that swat is and isnt a good example at the same time. u may learn shot pacing but also spamming someone may be more efficient. you really have to have a preference on it

I agree, octagon helps me the most, do not play swat if you want to increase your gun skill. I think it decreases it actually (other than the aim). Mlg playlist and octagon are the two best ways. Also another good warmup is arcade.

I do play SWAT from time to time. But the reason for it isn't bloom control. Since at all times you are 1shot it forces you to be more aware constantly. Another reason why I use to play it was because I found myself always choking on the last shot and SWAT forces you to be more accurate when close up in battle. Just my thoughts but it helped me.

my only experiences with swat in halo 3 and Reach have been fairly negative it just seems too easy seeing as there is a vast pool of people that are absolute garbage I find that the only thing that it improves is my K/d

If you want to get better in general, just play MLG. SWAT will help more with aiming for the dome not so much with bloom control in my opinion because every1 spams in swat, Unless they are going for a overkill or something like that but for the most part its just spammers and campers. If your trying to learn how to be Sneaky, however, play SWAT or Team Objective and just try to practice moving around the map while dropping shots and new routes to run the objective. When you feel like your ready just hop back into MLG and give it a try!

I think that SWAT is a good idea to pace your shots but when u panic in MLG u wont time then you will just spam, and since you have to shoot someone more than once in MLG i would just play MLG playlist over and over until you find the right timing of shots you need.
