Racing Trains?

I was coming home from a sick day of snowboarding tonight, Riding with a friend on route 11. This morning I was talking about the train tracks and how close to the road they were and how there are never trains on it. I was joking and said what if a train was driving and someone raced it and guess what happened tonight driving home? Yup, come aroung a turn to the stright away and there is a train. 1 in a million!

There are a lot of stupid things I have done that were way too much fun, lol. One of the first that comes to mind however is going camping with 3 of my friends in the rain, not realizing that we had a 2 man tent. Spent the night talking and getting soaked, getting mad then sleeping in the car.

The next day going to a friends concert and punching my friend in the face on accident then thinking it was a good idea to try and front flip off the stage...good times. lol

I wasnt even sure if it was funny from a outside point of view. I ws dying laughing. We pulled right up next to the train and stopped so it could catch up. I wanna know what the conductor was thinking :)

If It was me I would have laughed. Most North American trains have a maximum speed of 65 mph. The maximum speed limit in most of my territory is 40-50 mph. There are mountains and canyons which obviously permit lower speeds.

In Canada, we get paid by the mile. In the US, most Conductors get paid hourly. So people "racing" trains is just entertainment for the most part, to us. And the stories about Chicks flashing trains... It's true. There are beaches everywhere up here. I would say it happens once a week.

You seem to know alot about trains, Im curious why?
