COBYS2FAST - Reality Check - 6 Team Lan

For those who did not see my post on the '6 Team Lan Preview' forum:

�Cobys2Fast� is farthest from the physical truth, being born with a degenerative muscle disorder. In the world of Halo, he can run, jump, nade, and shoot with the best of them (almost). Halo and the MLG community has become everything to Coby. Over the past three years many of the MLG Pro gamers have shown tremendous kindness, allowing Coby to join for online practice and hang out with them at the events. (I have to include DP Rob, who has been a faithful friend to Coby at every MLG event)

As you know, Mr. & Mrs. P are the biggest supporters of the MLG Pro circuit, giving their heart and soul to supporting team Instinct, all pro and amateur gamers, and the MLG organization. They too have had a huge positive impact on Coby�s life. When the last minute news of GMM dropping out, Mr. P gave me a call and discussed the possibility of making a dream come true for my son � no doubt, enlisting Reality Check in the sixth spot showed incredible kindness by Pennacchio�s and team Instinct.

I know it totally sucks that GMM isn�t playing. I also know many of you out there wish another pro team was playing rather than RC. I sincerely apologize on the behalf of Coby and myself, that team RC has taken that spot. We have no idea how RC will perform against the pros (yes, highly likely dead last) but just being there is what it is all about. Perhaps they will get slaughtered but experience is invaluable! Certainly it will help the team get ready for Dallas and the season beyond.

Lastly, I would like to thank Bert and the Suddoths for accepting 14 year old Coby as their teammate � Dallas, 2011, will be the first tournament where he did not pick up a team literally last minute! (Coby's played in three other tournaments) Bert, Mike, and James have become great friends and teammates to Coby - I have heard about the Suds past actions but that was then and this is now.

Thanks to all the Cobys2Fast supporters - I really hope this is a great year for him.

Way to go Ken. This post should silence any grumblings. People have to know that with 24 players and possibly some coaches coming to the gaming house unexpected things happen and schedules conflict.

I'm possibly the 2nd biggest Coby fan next to you after seeing him play and hanging out with him at JvsP. With all that skill he does not have a bit of attitude which is tough to pull off at 14. I shudder to think of what I would have been like with that much game back in the day. I can't wait to see how he does against all these big names and I will be streaming (and learning) all weekend.

Great post "Coby's Dad" and I personally think it's awesome that RC is at the LAN and am looking fwd to seeing them play. I'm sure they will get a lot better by Sunday. I don't think there is any need to apologize to anyone for them at the house. They deserve it.

I actually like the bert and coy are on a team thank can through them into the pro circuit. by far the best young kid i have seen in reach is coby and i do think he has a future in the gaming world. good luck to bert and coby but until the sudds prove otherwise i wont support them. and i honestly dont mind that an am team is there, because they have rising talent.

at the last LAN I would go so far as to say that just on a pure skill level coby was as good as some of the pros there, once he starts getting experience I have no doubt he could make top 16 this year, if anything hes doing the sudds a favor, if only by making me a reality check fan lol

honestly cobys dad you fricking rock second i think its pretty cool reality check has a shot to get soem really good practice as well as learn some things that other teams have had to bump and grind through.

Thanks for making a great post. Its always nice to get a little more incite on players in the community.

I don't think you have to be sorry that your son is getting a great opportunity to improve with his new team. Any of the top teams would love to be there but if the chance comes to get the best practice you can in, nobody would turn it down. So I hope they RC does well and no matter what the scores show, they experience they will get will be so much more important.

I agree with the suds part, but bert is really good if you watch his gameplay. Good Luck to RC, hope to see them in the top 16, but i know they will place top 32.

I don't think that anyone is truly upset that they are going, they are probably just a little bit bummed that the spot wasn't taken by their favorite team or something like that. The entire TLNC is going to be behind Coby for this whole season and I wish him the best of luck at this LAN!

I agree i think that even though people will have their fav teams we will all be wearing a RC shirt under it lol also if for some wierd reason they get steamrolled (not saying they will) they need to walk away from this weekend realzing they are going to get so much learning and experince i mean when instince VS FB any of those teams are on they are beast and not many in the AM ranks can really stand up to them you know . but now they have a good shot to see how to make that step and how to dominate i really see this team top 16 and really turning heads

They are very arrogant about everything the do, mostly sud 1 I have seen. And playing against him all I have seen is the constant power weapon usage, while not getting kills with them. He sits back constantly and is just not a good TEAM player

So for the time they have my benifit of the doubt for now depending on how the lan go and if there isn't enough evidence there then openeer but if i don't like what i see yeah i will be on the band wagon with yall

As far as I'm concerned, there are no pro teams yet. Everyone has to prove themselves and RC could come out of the gates swinging and wrap up one of those coveted top 16 spots. This is a good opportunity to see where they stack up amongst the traditional powerhouses of Halo.

After hearing so many good things about this community i was very disappointed in seeing how many people were talking bad about the sud twins in the chat yesterday. No im not a fan of theres but i would not go out of my way to bad mouth them and some of the things people were saying seemed unfair. are you really better than them if you are doing what has given them a bad rep in the first place? think about it.

Even the FB series had four or so games that could have went either way. Coby is playing well, and has a ton of potential. It'll be interesting to see if the nerves have worn off today.

Well put. People change, especially at the age of most MLG players. Forgive them for the past and react to the present.

You have absolutely no reason to apologize for RC being at this LAN. The community can bite a big one (and I love the community) if they can't get it through their heads that an AM team getting to go to a LAN is an amazing opportunity, and could open the door for other AM teams to go in the future. This has nothing to do with Coby, his physical situation, or anything of the sort. It's plain old, dark green envy. Coby is a great player, and his personality shines through in game, making him an invaluable teammate. Bert is an awesome player, who seems extremely calm between games. Even when he rages a little during game, between games he brings his team back into focus. The Suddoths have been around for a while, and are very famous in the MLG community. The only reason that I can think that people don't like them is immaturity and jealousy. I don't personally know much about them, so I can't say who they are, but if you and Coby like them then they're more than worthy of being there in my book. Coby is a great kid. You've done an amazing job raising him, and from what I've seen, you continue to give of yourself; not only for him but for his friends as well.

I feel, that including you Ken, RC being at the LAN has not brought one person who doesn't deserve to be there. You and Joe are the reason behind the reason that MLG is what it is. Your support of the community, through the support of your own sons, encourages nothing but opportunity and growth for us all. Personally, I would like to thank Reality Check for making it to the LAN on such short notice, and filling that 6th spot. I know that they will take a lot from this weekend, and become much better players, and much better teammates in the process. Good luck Reality Check, I'm rooting for you. You can count on it!

I think they did well. A lot of those games could have went the other way had just one variable gone differently. Not to mention this is their first LAN playing with the big boys so maybe the nerves were present a bit. I'm interested to see if they improve over the weekend.
