so I'm from Canada and I clean up all my local events and I would really like to attend 1 if not more mlg events but they're all on the east coast, and I'm from the west. Long story shorts it'll be over $1000 for me to attend just 1. So if anybody has any tips on getting one that'd be appreciated thanks.

I remember North of 49 (Canadian Team) Was signed by Monster, I think. Then again they held a pro seed, so you might want to look for up and growing buisnesses in Canada.

Like I'm pretty sure most companies don't have a b.net profile so I can't be like "yo look up my fs and watch me shit on pros" like what do I have to bring to them and what type of companies, obvious local lan centres n such but what other ones are possible.

Well if you clean up at all of your locals, talk to your local LAN center or video game store or wherever you play these tourneys and ask them if they want to sponsor you. They have first hand experience of what you're capable of so try that

Try small any small business in the area. It doesn't have to be one with video game relations. Most smaller business are more willing to jump in on something with some explanation. That's how I've gotten some of mine in the past to go do things.

So if I went to some local skate shop or snowboard gear shop, they may be down. My lan centre is breaking even as far as profits go so there not really in a position for fork out $500
but thanks for the feedback guys much appreciated

One that I always get when I go to some place for a tournament is I get this local place in town that designs shirts and all that signage stuff lol. Places like that are awesome because they will be willing to make shirts for the event for you to wear because it works as advertisement for them. Just keep trying small any small business. You have to make sure you present yourself as a professional though and not the average sterotypical video game nerd looking for a hand out.

Depends on how much money you need. If you are really good, it is easy to find teams that will cover pass and hotel. If you need a flight covered, it is a little more complicated. Teammates might be able to throw down a few dollars for your ticket, but you could set up a ChipIn account and have family and friends help you too.

i think this thread is getting a bit off topic. lets try to stir it awa from fatherly pictures and more towards helping to get sponsors. this thread is too helpful to get shut down haha
