halo pro's and forged maps.

i don't want this to go the wrong way, i love how they are testing some forged maps right now but the other day when final boss loaded up android they said something along the lines of 'wtf' is this map and quit out without giving it the time of day. it seems kind of insulting to the creator to just bash the map from the loadout screen and just quit out of it. android/genome are probally the best forged map to come to halo reach yet. the season hasn't even started and its ending up like halo 3 was. there were so many better forged maps in halo 3 than were on the circuit that never got a chance because of stuff like this. /rant

Well, I was watching that game and they gave it a good 3 minutes. They really did not like it all and so they switched it out. I see where you are coming from, but map testing would be pointless if they just said they liked every map. They need to weed some of them out.

I was also watching that game, and they gave it like 30 seconds... I don't expect FB to like the map, but they started with the WTF is this shit stuff right at the loadout camera. It was insulting, but then it was FB, they hate lots of things.

The other team must have disliked it just as much to be willing to end it and switch the map.

They have been playing the game long enough to know whether or not they think something is going to work. It would have been nice if they could have played it and given constructive criticism on how it could be improved but that's not their job, nor is that the focus of the LAN.

well if kc has 30some games/gametypes i'd want to at least feedback from at least pros playing one game to know thoughts on them. at least they will probally get some feedback from the sq sya lan on some of newer testing gametypes. krillin what is the focus of this lan? v3 setting for dallas? unofficial v3(testing)? lan practice? nothing has been set for the start of the '11 season yet so i'd assume they need to test maps/gametypes for the sake of the pro curcuit. it just sucks maps always get overlooked by them.

I think the reason fb hates the maps is because they are not good, at least for the gameplay style that fb wants. No offense to any of the forgers, but i agree with just about everything ive heard from fb so far this lan. Most pros want simple, small maps, and most of the forge maps are not. Even fis said why dont they just remake onslaught? Well, good question.

FB needs to get over themselves. As far as maps go, forged or not, Android is one of the best. I don't care how long they've been playing pro, they DON'T know what makes or does not make a good map. It's their place to play the maps. Period. Too much weight is given to their opinions. Frankly, as most maps by Bungie are also "crap", who are they to judge?

i see they are playing anchor9 today too idk why. i forgot what was said to me but i thought they woudn't be able to use it at events until its on disc.

finally see they played android on the lans score sheet. (don't know if they did, i dont have stream pass) saw what happened with fb the other day from my friends comp

They're at the LAN to prepare for the event. There is little point to play a map they don't feel will be included at the opener. I'm sure if they felt differently they would've stuck it out. That being said, they could have gave it a little more time.

That's pretty ridiculous to not play and give shit from the loadout cam. Android plays really well and is a great sub for genome. If you don't put in any games on these maps you're not helping MLG. Atleast play the maps that are in rotation and if after 4-5 games you still hate it, then move on.

You really can't use Final Boss' opinion of reach maps for an arguement because they pretty much hate reach all toghether. They've indicated this in probably every series at the current LAN

Guys, once again, it wasn't JUST Final Boss. It was the other team as well (Legendz?) they both agreed to take the map out. So I don't think that FB should be getting bashed right now.

I played Android the other night and liked it. I know this isn't the official Android feedback thread, but the map has an orientation problem. I had troubles calling out the green and yellow sides because you had to look closely to see color.

Green side has the land in the background (if you see trees, that's green side). I wish I could put a sign on the loading screen or something that says that, because I know it's not the easiest thing to notice at first.
