View Full Version : What do you do when you are obviously out played?

So I've played Halo for a while but never been that good, though I would definitely like to change that. My question is what do you guys do when you are obviously being outplayed. Many of you might not run into this problem but us lesser beings do. Whether it be because half the team dropped out or because the other team has better skill/communication/teamwork/whatever.

I can't count the number of times a few bad mistakes throughout the game has lead to my team being spawn camped with no chance of getting out of it. Very frustrating. But usually I buck up and take it like a man. If I'm going to lose I would like to get it over with as soon as possible so hiding isn't going to do me any good.

Same here man, I usually put up a fight till the end even if it is 4 vs me ;) and they keep tbagging my corpse :)

What's the point in giving up? Try your limits vs the four of them or ........

pick a good hiding spot and have the sticky grenade ready!

If your team members quit, there is unfortunately not much you can do. Being on top of every single power weapon spawn is really the only way I have encountered that allows you to keep it close against a solid team. As for being spawn camped, you need to coordinate your fire. Single out a vulnerable enemy and have everyone on your team pick him off. To do this requires communication, but it is a simple enough task. Once you kill that one member, the game has essentially turned into a 4v3 for a small amount of time in which you need to capitalize. If done correctly, you will hopefully have taken control and put the other team in the position you have just gotten out of. The reality of it all is, you are going to come across teams who are better than you, but instead of raging or getting frustrated, you are better off learning from it.

Tips.

1) Don't Get mad, and don't stop communicating
2) Try to stay alive as long as possible, either by running around your side, while putting a few shots here and there can easily help push a team back.

If I end up on the bad side of a 1v4, I try to give them the hardest time possible.
There is nothing better than out DMRing a full team when the are set up for the spawn camp.
I did that today actually...

Blame it on the connection or blame it on Bungie. That usually does it for me.

Stay calm and slow down the pace of the game (slayer games mainly). You can do this by staying alive as long as possible, and if you still have a full team with good communication, staying alive will more than likely get you out of whatever hole you're in (i.e. spawn camp, counter-cap, etc.)
It's good to mention that in the case of an objective game, if you're not the last man alive and you don't ABSOLUTELY HAVE to go clutch, don't try to be a hero. Stay calm and communicate so you're team shots hit their targets and drop people quickly. Focusing on one person at a time is easily more effective than just rushing altogether with no specified targets, even in a situation where you need to move quickly.

I do one of three options:
A.) Yell at the top of my lungs everytime they kill me lol
B.) Go into hardcore game mode and slay the crap out of them
C.) Just go for assassinations for the rest of the map.

50-41 Slayer DMR on Tempest (http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=496450776&player=Seraph%20SBG)

Despite it being a Noble Map Pack game I took your advice and ran with it. Focused on keeping the power weapons out of their hands (10 kills with the Rockets) and only starting fights that I could win I was able to go 32-12.

Based on this I still can't understand what the obsession with jetpack is in matchmaking. I can see the benefit of having perpetual high "ground" but you become a huge target to team shooting. I guess I'll stick with my sprint and let others figure it out on their own.

I normally just like to hunt down the best player on their team kill him and then commence t-bagging.

When it comes to be 1v4, camp, sneak, go predator on them. People relax quite a bit on teamwork when its 1v4 :)

If your getting outplayed, talk with your teammates to try and coordinate better rather than taking everything into your own hands and making it worse. For spawn traps, just run lol sprint is a crappily magical thing when it comes to getting out of spawn traps.
