My xbl friend told me it was true and I had to check for myself:

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=12319547

It obviously isn't 100% confirmed but that seems fairly genuine.

How much of an impact would his return have on the top 16?

Not even his brother, Ogre2, would drop someone from a championship caliber team to pick-up someone that hasn't competed in an event in 2 years.

With that said, I will be extremely happy to see Ogre1 make a comeback.

On this topic:
1) What happened to Kill3n coaching FB?
2) Who was that "Coach Matty" that coached them at Raleigh?

I had thought Kill3n was still coaching them but oh well.

Also: I think it'd be interesting to see 1gre play again but there is no way 2gre or anyone else on FB would want to split ways right now after playing so dominantly in Raleigh. Plus they all get along really well.

The only thing about this is that although there is know doubt the 1gre retained some or most of his skill it won't be enough to keep up just yet. So I don't see why a lower caliber team couldn't pick him up first besides the fact he is a legend but hey lets be serious no top 8 team is gonna be like holy crap 1gre is coming back lets freaking pick him up!!!!

If he actually is coming back I could easily see a top 16 team picking him up if he's still the high caliber player that he used to be. Heck considering Str8's / CbN's placing he could end up on one of them...

I pray he doesn't end up on str8 :(

Frankly, much as I love Ogre 1, it's highly unlikely that he will be a relevant name for the remaining duration of MLG Halo 3. More interesting to me are the potential implications for Reach.

Ogre 2 is currently on a team that might well win out in Halo 3. At very least, FB is very likely to be a Top 3 team for the remainder of Halo 3. Being in such a prestigious and profitable position may be the incentive that Ogre 2 needs to continue into Reach (assuming there was some doubt in his mind). After all, even though we've seen that skills don't always translate between Halo games fluidly, FB have loads of talent, have demonstrated exceptional teamwork, and seem to enjoy playing together. It might be difficult to say no to the chance to continue their success into Reach.

Meanwhile, it appears that Ogre 1 has gotten the itch, presenting the very real chance that both Ogres will play Reach and consequently allowing for a potential reunion. This is the stuff that mlgpro.com forum dreams are made of.

I seriously doubt and hope FB won't make a move for Ogre1, He's been out the game for over a year so I can't really see it happening. FB have just won their first event since the first H3 event in Meadowlands, as much as I would love to see the Ogres back, its not gonna happen. Excited to see what team he ends up on if all this is true and it would be cool if he was to coach FB, I could see him as a really solid coach.

Thought this part the moment I heard about the status. Half of me hopes he's trolling everybody but half of me wants to watch 1gre play again... :p

I just think Ogre1 didn't want to play while Halo 3 was on the circuit, lol. Now that he knows Reach is coming, he probably wants to get back into it. Not to mention seeing his brother win an event again probably unearthed the sleeping beast deep down inside him.

Ha. Orge1 and Legit should start a team called the Comebacks. Get all of the retired pro's and make one last push to see if they still got it ;)

I say HP Darkman from Halo 1 and Saiyan from H1 & 2 (i was gonna say Zyos but he has issues as far as getting along with teammates)

Ogre1, Legit, Shockwav3, Mackeo

Yeah, I would watch that team.

They should seriously make it happen. I think Shockwav3 is going to be working for MLG now so he wouldn't be able to participate. He's doing what Ghandi is doing now.

This is correct. He and Ghandi are both commentating with Chris Puckett. I'm not sure if you noticed, but they had a box that Shockwav3 stood on so it made him somewhat close to Puckett's / Ghandi's height. He's a pretty short dude. :p

Back on topic: I'd prefer to see 1gre and Legit on different teams but at least there is less than one month of waiting time until roster lock this time so we won't have to wait TOO long until team changes are all done. ;)

I honestly don't believe 1gre will end up on any team inside the top 8 unless he is just lucky or a top 8 team is desperate. I mean yeah he is a better pick up than solider imo but hey who isn't :)

I'm sure top teems looking for F/As will at least run games with him. It's going to come down to how he's actually playing and until we see some kind of evidence there really isn't much to base a prediction on. IMO
