Throughout most of the Halo 3 season's I have always thought what is the point exactly of teams swapping players out. In my opinion a team change is only needed when after a couple of tournaments you notice that nothing has worked and you always have the same problems. But seeing how most teams change players after every event sometimes I see that more as a loss on their part. Yes, some teams have been able place higher after the switch. But that to me only comes since they are new and most teams still don't know how they play and are mostly trying to figure out their style while at an event.
There have been many teams that don't change their rosters and have only gotten better. In 2006/2007 Final Boss and Carbon. In the 2008 season, Str8 was able to by just acquiring Snip3edown. In 2009 with Triggers Down they dominated. In the 2010 season, FB, SQ, and Instinct were one of the most consistent teams due their team chemistry (noted. Totz was a great player but only played with FB for one tournament).
With this being said, I see Triggers down not as a bad team, because it is visible as the 2009 team showed with the first back to back victories. But I think for this being a new game they should just learn to adapt to each other and not just replaced with another if they aren't clicking in the beggining.
Just to note here are all the players that have played for Triggers down since the 2008 Season.
• SK
• Hysteria
• Fearitself
• Lowkin
• Victory X
• Snipedown
• Mackeo
• Karma
• Heinz
• iGotUrPistola
• Neighbor
• Totz
• Bestman
• Elamite Warrior
This is not a post to insult Triggers Down or any other team particular that has as many team changes. But I think if most teams want to prosper I would keep the same line up to better their chemistry with one another. Would be great to hear insite from other people and maybe even pros on my thoughts and their thoughts.
P.S. - Would make following rosters less hectic.
That is all

But realize that at an event that if a team feels that certain player(s) are not performing well then there will be a team change.
For instance Final Boss '08 Had Walshy and Place 1st at Meadows, but the next two events they were struggling to place top 8 (where prize money is located). As well as FB was losing that 1st seed that they had acquired at Meadows. Dropping Walshy and picking up neighbor was the only thing that FB thought would work, and it sorta did.

Def a lot of roster changes... but they were also always a great/consistent team.

while they have made alot of changes its mostly who they drop as opposed to how many that has earned them that reputation, just look at instinct:
Roy, lunch, mackeo, victory, snipedown, soviet, walshy, ghost, fear, neighbor, elamite, cloud, and totz and t2 if you count current rosters, carbon has had alot too, Shockwave, gandhi, karma, ghost, defy, walshy, naded, anarchy, bman, strongside (not sure if bman or side went to an event though), soldier, chig. To me the difference with TD was dropping people for dumb reasons, Karma after a win, Heinz after the xbox malfunction, and ever dropping pistola in a bad idea.

tD makes dump swaps sorry... thats just tD and sorry but i have never liked tD. P.S. the longer the team is around the more swaps look at Str8 Rippin.

Look at Status Quo. They had a bunch of 4th place finishes, and then a bad showing at D.C. Did they break up after that? No, they just worked harder. And what happened at Dallas? 2nd place. They stuck together the whole year, and ended by almost winning the national championship. Also, they are now considered one of the best Reach teams out there because they have been together for over a year. In my eyes, sticking together is the best idea, but then again, I am not a pro!

Have to agree with this. Other teams have made a lot of roster changes as well. TD has just made a lot more for completely dumb reasons. And yeah dropping Pistola...when I heard that I was just like ummmm, there goes TD's hopes of winning.
I would like to know the reasons for dropping Neighbor and Elamite though. And now that SK and Hysteria are back on the team, my short stint in supporting TD is over. :)

Most of tD's drops are kinda weird and dumb looking in paper, but they always seem to find their way and do good in tournaments. This time, i agree with hysteria being back on the team, but sk, ehhh, i would've kept elamite

I have to agree alot of TD team changes in the past have been silly verging on insane ( Heinz incident ). But currently i think they have done the right thing going with a the majority of the 09 TD, which was a very strong team who knew how to win.
Hopeful to see Pistola join them after event 1 and recreate 09 TD as it was 1 of my favourite rosters of all time.
(Also hope Krillin doesnt see this he may kill me for wanting his beloved FB to split lolz).

Great poit made here Ben. The 08-09 Str8 rippin stayed the same for the most part and they performed the best they have ever performed in those years. After they broke up Str8 sort of fell off of the top.

Most of the team changes with sk/hysteria are probably personal. They both seem very immature and intolerant

While I can't agree that sometimes a change is needed as when mackeo was on karma. I would agree with raging chicken about sq. Also I did forget about instinct and classic. There have been a lot of changes were a team benefited of ones lost, such as elamite and instinct.

FB, SQ, and Instinct most likely did not have many team changes because they were doing so well. I don't think it was the other way around. But I do agree that I don't think teams should have so many team changes.

Well what you said is true, but look back at the event where sQ got 7th. if they wanted to they could of gotten a team change, but instead kept at it and got 2nd at nationals.

It is cause SQ has always been the underdogs in every competition. They know they have the talent to do some big upsets but they stick together to build up chemistry needed.
I actually played w/ Heinz the other day. (we got paired up in MM and then he invited me to join his party) I gotta say, hes just an incredibly chill guy. the coolest part was when he invited Pistola too :D But anyway what was funny was they basically said to me that Neighbor is "poison"

HEA7; can you elaborate a little bit? Obviously a touchy subject considering that alot of guys seeking pro player status attempt to model gameplay after neighbor. I know you don't want to make heinz and pistola (personally my favorite player along with Roy) out to be "trash talkers" but they probably have very valid points. Just want to know if it's neighbors communication, team play, slayer style, objective, etc. Curious bro....
all they said was that he is poison. I think what that means is that no team will ever do well w/ him. From MY perception of neigbor, i would say its cuz he kinda goes off and does his own thing instead of focusing on the team. Listen to some of the commentaries, they say like "with neighbor on the team, it is often a good idea to just let him do his own thing around the map" IDK they also called SYA the most cocky team in MLG.

HEA7, I hear ya. With regards to SYA; personally I think you should talk less with your mouth and more with your controller. But now we are really getting off topic of the thread. No worries though

Nice man. I got matched up the other night with a few good people, and we just played a few games straight(don't recall the names right now). It seems everyone is really relaxed while on live. Last night I was in a game with Shelly, and we were playing with Pistola and he was chill.

Well, as he has won events in the last two Halo games, and placed well for the entire duration of Halo 3, that's sure a bold theory. Lol @ the prospect of Neighbor doing his own thing in game. Not even worth going in depth with this.

i don't think it had anything to do with his playstyle, more so his track record with team changes and stability.
