Ok see heres the laydown. I really want to get the 360 version of MvC3 to play with people from here on TLN and hopefully get better. Hers the problem: The place that hosts the tournaments, my work place , plays on the PS3. I'd rather not have to buy it on the PS3 just for the mere fact I literally only have 1 friend on PSN and id rather not play random matches but at least against good players from here. I've been looking around at ways to kinda counter act this so I can practice on 360 and still do good on PS3. I have found a couple ways but I don't like any of them. First one is the most ideal and that is a modded Fightstick to play on 360/PS3 so I can use it on both wont effect my gameplay but its like 150 for the mod +150 for the fightstick thats 300 just in the fightstick and mod and its for one game . 2nd Option was the XCM crossover for PS3 so I can use my wired 360 controller on the PS3 , problem is ive heard of bad lag times between button commands and in fighter its all about combos and missing one move cause of a lag problem not most ideal. Third which is about only thing I might do is there is this controller for PS3 thats wired or wireless is suppose to be like a 360 controller heres a link ;
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Elite-Wireless-Controller-Playstation-3/dp/B003V4AK8E
and that is alright but heard some things about the sticks getting stuck a lot and most kids just have taken the plastic off around the stick to make it normal.
anyways thats it ! I just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas etc. ! I mean the tournament is lil bit away so no rush but just wanna get practice in soon :D !

There were so many amazing promos back in 2010 to get Tournament Edition sticks for $100 shipped. I haven't seen any promos yet this year, if anything I've seen TE prices rise a little bit. If I find a quality stick for cheap I'll let you know.
Anyways. I would go with the TEasy mod + DualStike. About $40-50 for each part and its a 100% solderless dualmod. Ive been wanting to get it for a little while now. There is a 3 part video on youtube that shows how simple it is to do. So even if you buy a TE stick at $150, you will still be at around $200-240 for a dualmoded stick.

hey man well your in luck cause 1) most TE or fight sticks are able to play both systems since there made by 3rd party companies or at least this is what i was told...second there is a good number of us that are MVC3 players and get together frequently and set up a lobby and battle for hours on in but i would strongly recommend a 360 version

Thats not true. If a 3rd party company wants to make a controller they would need to be licensed the right to do it. If you want to use a 360 TE on PS3 or vice versa, You would need a conversion cable (which lags) or hard mod it. Also its best to dual mod a 360 TE to play on PS3 because 360 controllers (including plastic instruments and other peripherals) have an extra chip needed for them to work with the console (almost like a key if you will). So a dual modded PS3 TE could end up faulty if used on a 360.

Wow I didnt know that I thought they both just plugged into the USB and worked fine, I dont image it would be hard too go to a ps3 controller, in fact it might even be easier if you use the d-pad

That does not loon too bad vontoxic! Ughhh 100 dollars for a fightstick bleh. I mean to be honest I want to be good at MvC3 so fightstick would be the best but the only real reason behind getting one is the dual system and practice and use the same thing I practice with on another system. Maybe next paycheck ill think about it, I just dropped 280 for Astro A40's so another 150-200 for a fightstick killing me here lol. I might just buy the fightstick and mod it later closer to a tournament
Also , would would be the most ideal stick to buy for modding ? Street fighter one or madcatz ? Or is their a difference ?

IF you get a Fightstick you can have the same controls so if you went to a Tourney and used a Fight stick its the same thing. but all the Pros play on 360.

Its not like you absouletly need a stick to be good, or that getting one will make you instantly better. The number one guy in the world (online) with like an 87% win rate uses a 360 controller. In fact when you first switch you will probably play worse for a while

hey you can get a basic stick at around 59.99-69.99 the only stick that cost 130 is a tournament edition and its just alot biger and kinda gives you more room for your hands and what not check madcatz.com and if you see one you like let me know i will reach out to some people i know and see if i can get you a code
Also , would would be the most ideal stick to buy for modding ? Street fighter one or madcatz ? Or is their a difference ?
also ya people use controlers but honestly 360 controllers suck for fighting i used one and split my thumb open so bad my blood destroyed the controller

I don't really have any advice on this but I've been thinking about playing MvC3 for fun since I'm bored with Halo/CoD so anyone who plays can feel free to add me as long as you don't mind playing with a Bad kid lol

Its no so much that i need a stick , like the thing is I want something that I can use on both systems. Like I practice with a 360 controller ... then have to use a ps3 one for when I play on the ps3? The thing with a fightstick is that I would mod it so I can use it on both systems that way when I have to play on a PS3 I wont be terriable where as if I was use to 360 controller and had to then try and use a ps3 I would be bad. If that makes sense. Its not so much wanting a fightstick for a fightstick its the connivence of being able to use it on both systems

the nice thing is the Controls are the same so you can set it up to play just the same. just will feel a little off.
PS Sinstar you wanna play in the Title Tourney for MvC3?

@HavkinKnight, There are some sick pad players out there though. much respect to them.
@kevindourn, you could look into the Hori fightsticks. All japanese parts just like the MadCatz TE, but cost a little less. You can also try dual modding the MadCatz SE and buying real Japanese buttons for it so they don't stick or give out on you. Sanwa buttons are like $2.50 a piece. I dont know how worth it it would be to go with the MadCatz SE though (I think they have been discontinued and prices for it are a little high).
Hori Real Arcade Pro.VX SA (http://www.hori.jp/us/products/xbox360/xbox360_rapvx/index.html) (the placement of the start button is a little scary)
Hori Real Arcade Pro.EX SE (http://www.hori.jp/us/products/xbox360/xbox360_rap_ex_se/index.html)
Hori Real Arcade Pro.EX (http://www.hori.jp/us/products/xbox360/xbox360_realarcade_proex/index.html)
IF you want to be a pimp:
Hori Real Arcade Pro: EX Premium VLX (http://www.amazon.com/Real-Arcade-Pro-Premium-Xbox-360/dp/B003VQR24W/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1298597101&sr=8-13)
^That thing could probably fit on 2 peoples laps^

i was thinking about just doing the madcatz TE one.
Also Could not help but notice vontoxic you are from orlando and I live like 40 mins away! I was wondering if I ordered all the parts and such for the mod could you do it for me - id pay you like 20-40 for it , I just saw you live pretty close and id rather have someone that knows what they are doing then my dumb butt mess it up and have to order a new 99$ stick!
If you want I just see that you now a lot on this field and i think that you do a better job! I mean heck you link the parts you need and ill get them! And is the madcatz TE would buttons good or should order some like 5.99 ones that are better?

lol My location is false advertisement. I actually live in Poinciana in Kissimmee lol. I just like the way "orLANdo" looks.
I haven't actually done the mod myself, looks pretty simple though. I've been wanting to do it but I don't play much anymore. Also, no need to buy buttons for the TE. They are already nice buttons, unless you want different colors.
What area do you live in?

And I thought Gweedo888 lived far from me... Fuuuuuu. lol. Nice stick though!!
I dont have a car, I don't even drive, otherwise I would have met you half way. Honestly though, the mod looks simple but I would be hesitant to do it for someone else. I dont want to break something!! :/
