Well, since this post was quickly buried under the rest, I'll start off. I didn't even know about this event until my good friend and washed-up former H3 Pro Obiiiiii (hahaha I hope he doesn't read this!) told me about it and said I should go. Since I just got a boatload of tax return money back, I figured why not.

I have been playing Halo since Halo CE but I never really heard about MLG until pre-patched H2. I have attended a few events but haven't gotten a placing worth mentioning because every event I have gone to, our team was formed LITERALLY right before the event started. I have improved my gameplay a lot from playing with Obiiiiii and some other local pros. I have hosted a bunch of LANs at my house in which have had pretty awesome turnouts - Best Man, DeRsKy, and former H1 Pro Xena came and dominated lol. I have had the chance of playing in a few local tournaments against the SUDDOTH twins - there was a recent 2v2 tourney that Obi and I went to and we should have won but I choked hard in Winner Bracket Finals vs the twins...

As for my life outside of Halo, I am attending YTI for Computer Technology and Internet Security full time and I recently was hired on by a small company doing IT Infrastructure and Security for various businesses around the area. Needless to say, my Halo practice time has significantly decreased as of late so I usually find myself playing during late night hours to get my fix :)

Can't wait for March 11th!

I'm Vox, 25, I like long walks on the beach...haha
Seriously though...There was an Atari in the house when I was born...I used to play NES with my parents when I was pretty young. *Super Mario Bros. 3 and Battletoads FTW*
I then went to Sega Genesis, N64, Sega Dreamcast, Xbox, and now 360...I have followed the Halo series since launch and I have lurked MLG since the days of StK...I remember laughing at the people that paid for VOD back in the day...and look at me now...spending more money than I want to admit to enjoy this 'hobby'
I think PvJ will be a chance to meet a lot of cool people and enjoy some healthy competition...I hope I can learn a few things and make some new connections...

Also...there is now a "Voxy" on TLN...that is NOT ME nor do I know who he is...
II Vox II is currently my only GT...

I'm 22, I have been playing Halo since CE but didn't get into the competitive aspect until mid Halo 2. In game I naturally gravitate to doing objective/support but I also have nice LAN snipe. I have been to several events and love the atmosphere. The reason I want to do PvJ? Well, it's a great way to network and meet new people and a chance to play with good players. Oh and playing at a LAN with some Halo legends is a plus too :D. I'm really hoping to walk away with a different perspective on the game. I think that the things I can learn from PvJ are going to be limitless.

Other than Halo, i'm a student. I go to Western Kentucky University studying Computers and Informational Technology. I also work for the university in the IT department. Most of my free time goes to halo and spending time with my girlfriend of 6 years but other than there's hanging out with friends, ANIME!! ,tinkering around with anything electronic. I have also gotten big in to following other gaming communities other than MLG. Like TeamLiquid and the GSL. Watching competitive Starcarft is actually fun.

I guess that's a brief description of my self. I do want to take the time to say thanks to Mr. P and family for creating something like this. Western eSports is growing and I wouldn't be surprised to see more gaming houses pop up in the future. We can all agree that The Lan Network is a pioneer in this movement.

Thanks all can't wait to meet everyone.

My name is Daniel, and I am 19 years old. I have been gaming since the NES. I first got into Halo with Halo: CE shortly after its release, and I have been LANing with friends and family since then. I have attended a few local tournaments and spectated at MLG Anaheim. I have been following MLG since early '06 and never looked back. I can't wait to meet everyone get some quality LANing in!

My name Jim, and I'm 20 as of today. Been playing halo since Halo CE, but not competitively until 2006. Been only to a few small tournaments, bad placings with bad locals. Have yet to go to an MLG event, don't feel like wasting my time going with out a good team. LAN every once in a while, when i get the time to go.
Can't wait.

Mi chiami Asta. 20 years old and getting older all the time.
I go to Kennesaw State University in GA. When I'm not there, I'm either working or playing Halo most of the time.
I own (as arrogant as that sounds) multiple companies that market and sell adventure sports and have recently branched out into other markets. The long term plan is to become an anesthesiologist and distance myself from my present involvement in the companies.

On the side of halo, I have only played competitively since midway through halo 3. My first event was in D.C. last year, but I went with a team that was quickly organized and was nowhere near ready. I've never put much time into improving myself in the game. Not that I haven't wanted to, but lack of time and motivation have gotten the better of me. Going into PvJ I have put in much more time on improving my game overall and trying to setup a solid basis for organizing in-game and out of the game improvement. Hopefully I will do well at PvJ. If I think I'm the best of the joes i'll continue to put in the effort. Otherwise, it'll just be fun to play.

Can't wait to see everyone there, and don't forget to pick me first among the joes for your fantasy team :)

Sorry for the bible. Tried to condense it. You can skip to the last paragraph if you don't have the time : )

My name is Nathan. 22 years old. From Orlando, FL, now living in Las Colinas, a suburb outside of Dallas, TX.

I'm also in the IT field--a network security engineer. I've been doing IT now for close to four years, three of which were spent on the island of Okinawa, Japan. Because of my location, it was quite difficult to attend events, or to get any quality LANs. Unfortunately, I didn't get into the competitive gaming scene until early 2008, right after Meadowlands. My friend Joe introduced me to some Final Boss gameplay and I was hooked pretty much immediately. I became especially enthralled with older gameplay from the days of C.E., specifically 1v1s between Killer N and Zyos. This led me to immediately order Halo 2 and Halo C.E. so I could go back and have the chance to play the other games as well as Halo 3.

I have always been super competitive, especially when it comes to beating Joe. So when I realized how much better than me he was at Halo (all three games), I sort of...stopped sleeping. At work, in any spare time I had, I would watch VoD, read and watch gameplay analysis articles/videos, learn the maps, etc., anything I could do to improve. After work I would play until I couldn't stay awake any longer. If Joe was online, I demanded 1v1s. We'd play almost 50 games a day, sometimes more. As soon as he got off, I would go into the MLG playlist alone, as I didn't have any friends in the same time zone. I usually got about an hour or two of sleep at night, got a nap in during lunch time, and sometimes took an hour nap when I got home. Obviously, this kind of schedule isn't optimal for any kind of performance, but I was more determined than wise, I think. I definitely share Roy's view on losing. I can't stand it.

Joe had been playing since C.E., all local though. I would say he is an above average player all around, and one of the smartest players I've ever seen. Unfortunately, he stopped caring about Halo shortly after Halo 3 came out. I sort of brought him back to it for a while. Anyway, it took me about a week to beat him for the first time, then another two weeks or so before I could 15-0 him. (In Halo 3) This isn't to say that he can't still 15-0 me, because he more than has that ability when he tries. He just rarely tries anymore. A lot of people say that 1v1s don't mean anything. I understand that partially, I guess. But the amount of progression that I saw in my performance within a month of learning how he played the game and adapting it to my own play style was fairly incredible. Of course, I definitely don't think these 1v1s signified much in terms of skill, as I had the most horrific connection you can imagine (I consistently played with 1100+ ms of latency.) I feel pretty bad for people who had to play on my host, though I rarely pulled it.

When Reach came out, I had just moved back to the States and I didn't have a job yet. I didn't get around to purchasing it until the end of December, and it wasn't until recently that I started really working on my individual skill. I would say that currently I am above average but inconsistent. Especially in team games. It is my goal to specifically work on Communication, Teamwork, and Movement/Positioning during this LAN, and to come back with a new competitive drive. I do have aspirations to play professionally, though they are essentially aspirations to play with the best of the best. It's not completely about winning for me, but rather the opportunity to compete at top-level. And eventually, I want to be able to win against the best. So I guess it is about winning, sort of...

In a nutshell:
*I'm 22 years old
*I am normally pretty terrible at FPS games. When I first started playing Halo, I was worse than anyone I have met to this date. Determination got me through this (I was literally unable to even move the lookstick while running around. I must've looked like a toddler on Xbox Live :P ) I used to exclusively play RPGs, and not the Action kind either.
*I have been into MLG since early 2008
*Lived in Japan during Halo 3's reign as MLG's flagship title
*Halo C.E. is my favorite game in the series, followed by Reach, Halo 2, and Halo 3, in that order.
*I play on 5 Sensitivity, Bumper Jumper, No Vibration. Sometimes I will switch to 7 or 10 in FFAs.
*Stengths: 1v1s, FFA, DMR shot
*Weaknesses: Team games, Power Weapon control, Charging too much (not very good weaknesses to have...that is what the LAN is for!)
*Favorite pros (other than Ogre 2) (Halo C.E. - Killer N/Ogre 1, Halo 2 - StongSide/Karma, Halo 3 - Naded, Halo Reach: Naded [so far] )

Also, my birthday is March 11.

I think that is more information than anyone wanted. Hurray for Monday morning work evasion skills!

Kyden

My great grandfather taught me how to build computers when I was about 6 years old, and ever since then I've pretty much been involved with fixing computer problems for my everyone around me, so it was just kind of a natural transition, you know? As far as the actual entry into the field, I had a nice job opportunity that I took when I was 18, right out of high school, that involved working in Japan. Right place at the right time sort of thing, I suppose. I took the job, and with the experience I gained in network administration I was able to enter into the Security side of things.

That was a very superfluous answer. Sorry!

Just goes to show you that I just wasn't feeling it after all that I've had to deal with. Some friendly competition never hurt anyone. Don't worry I'm bringing my "A" game to the PvJ. Now if we end up on the same team we'll just have to imagine everyone as each other and then its game over. lolz. Can't wait, its gonna be a lot of fun.

I will bring your A game and raise you my AAAAA game.
Will be fun as hell, but I hope your on another team so I can win against you. More fun when you know the competition.
All the pro's will be fun to play with, but I hope I can get on one of the twins teams for the rivalry lol :)

Thanks so much for the support guys I am so pumped for this! It will be really awesome to see what I can do at the Gaming House and have the best fun I have had in my entire life thank you so much, respect to all people who knows that coming across seas is one of the hardest things to do. <3

And Vox, yes we are a god-squad if that ever happens. <3

Go England!

So I just realized Hytrin and Hylian are different people...and I've never played with Hylian...so I have NO IDEA...

I'll see your raise and I'll Overkill Exterm it. Some friendly trash talk is good for the soul. We'll be on different teams don't worry. I'm actually curious to see who ends up on the same team as me because I have played games with a good chunk of the members going and found that for the most part we compliment each other's style of play. Can't wait...One more week. Yay.

Awesome to see everyone is excited for this as I am. Everyone attending, post a little bit about yourself to help us to get to know everyone a little better before the LAN begins. Cant wait to see you all at the gaming house, it will be one of the best weekends(I hope) you will ever have gaming.

Name: Brian Wyatt
Age: 24
Hometown: Newark,DE
Hobbies/interests: Music, Movies, Video Games, and simple just having fun
Play style: Objective Slayer (yeah I am kind of a hybrid all around player)

I have been playing since Halo: CE but took a break from late H2 to late H3. The reason for the break was because my brother was doing his thing in Halo so I looked for my own game. However CoD became no longer a challenge at all and I lost interest. I'm making a return in HR to hopefully gain the same ranks as my brother. Just as I taught my brother how to play Halo back in the day he has taught me a few things that he has learned. I am really looking forward to learning from other Pros. Oh and I can't wait to play LAN. I hate the connections online half the time.
