View Full Version : saying goodbye to MLG

I know I'm not known on here that much but I just wanted to say goodbye to MLG AND TLN. I wanted to compete really bad and and tried probably more then than necessary. I wanted to help my dad out with money and show my mom that I could something great.

Times have changed for me unfortunately. My mom passed away at the end of 09 and my dad diagnosed with HIV. I practiced at halo even harder cause I felt it was all I had. But i haven't gotten anywhere with it and can't afford to compete with due to my dad not working.

I appoligize for this but just felt i should post it. I love halo and MLG and whish everyone luck at Dallas who is attending! GO INSTINCT!

P.S I will probably sell my gaming equipment on here one day so be looking for that.

My heart breaks for you bro I hate hearing stuff like that but I kinda get excited for a split second while going through rough waters because I know that things can get better and make me a stronger person. Stay strong my friend. You are always welcome here and we all want to see you back on here from time to time.

Giving up the dream of competing doesn't mean you can't still be a fan... (look at me!) Take the time you need and hopefully you can come back in some capacity when you feel ready. Be strong, best of luck!

My only advice is you don't have to go pro to still be in the MLG and TLN community. Ask anyone on here i've never teamed with anyone because i don't care about going pro or even playing at an event, i just love watching Halo and the competition between the games best. Trust me, when you're not tied down to an intense practice schedule gaming and watching MLG become just more enjoyable, like a leisure activity more than a job.

Good luck with whatever you do though =D

I appreciate it everyone. Sincerely. It means a lot to me. It's hard to be around the community sometimes because it makes me want to get up and compete. Maby ill try to find a LAN or something(never been to one) to fill in the gap of competing professionally.

Depending on what happens in the next two months I might come back and do as some of you suggested to just be a community member, we'll see how it goes.

Just to clarify, this is not the Montage Sandman. I've never herd of him and had no intention to pose as him.
(Just clarifying for the people who sent me a message about it.)

We all go through tough times, some of us tougher than others. Just the fact that you wanted to accomplish something for the sake of your family and to show your loved ones that you could succeed is a personal accomplishment in it's own right. You deserve to be happy, and I truly hope that you can find that somewhere outside of gaming until you have the opportunity to return to the things that you enjoy doing. Don't give up on yourself, do what you can do for your father now, and my condolences for the passing of your mother (R.I.P).

Gaming isn't everything, but doing what makes you happy and believing in yourself is one of the most important characteristics a human-being can have. Keep doing what you can to overcome the obstacles in your path and you'll continue to be successful at whatever it is you set your mind to. Good luck.

Man that's really awful. I'm so sorry that you have had to go through all of that. Life can be so unfair at times and things can really bring you down. But every adversity we face gives us the opportunity to come out that much stronger. But no matter what it still hurts and takes its toll on us. So stay strong, things will get better in time and we as a community are sorry for your loss and current situation. Hope to see you back here, just because you cant compete doesn't mean you cant be a fan :)

Best Wishes.
