Your top 5 players of the year so far

If you had to pick the top 5 players so far in halo 3 this year who would they be and who would be your TOP 1 out of the 5?

Mine would have to be

Roy
Cloud
Neighbor
FearItSelf
Victory X

My top player out of the 5 I would have to say is Roy. 2 MVP's, 2 tournament victories and a 2nd place finish this season speaks for itself, not to mention Roy is one of the top objective players in terms of time, he is one of the best communicators on the circuit, and he has consistently been playing top teams all season.

It was mainly because when Power had Baxter on their team they weren't placing too well. Mvp comes into the team and they start placing in the top 16.

Oh okay well thanks for clearing that up. I really don't know that much about Power besides that i've played I think its Buk 57 in MLG playlist once lol

I think you are going with the most valuable players to a team which is somebody who brings success when playing well and increases a teams placing or is the person who without him on the team doesn't do well. An easy example would be Naded in '08 and '09. I wouldn't put MVP in my top 5 best players because he hasn't been in the top 8 at all, but he very well could be a reason why Power found success this season.

Yeah there was also a toss up between Pistola and Enable I wasn't sure who I wanted to pick.

As you could say for my pick on Vx because he did struggle in Cbus, I wouldn't put Pistola in my top 5 because he really hasn't shined other than in Raleigh this year, he struggled on a bad tD team in Orlando and he struggled in Cbus along with Vx.

It really is neat to see how similar these are. There are a few minor differences but for the most part its been roy, neighbor, fis, cloud, and enable.

All of Instinct deserve credit but that would take up 4 of my top 5 so my list is aside from them and in no order:

5. NEIGHBOR- He's easily been playing the best Halo of his entire career and has evolved into a complete player.
4. Tizoxic- He's very well rounded and had a lot to do with Classic's top 2 finish and was playing the best on both of his teams for the two events after that
3. Naded- Well-Rounded and Carbon placed top 12 w/o him at the opener and then top 6 with him. He also played the best at Raleigh for his team even though they only managed top 16.
2. FearItself- He is on a team full of game changers and sometimes I don't think he get's the credit he deserves because of fan favorites like Ogre2 and Pistola on his team.
1. Victory X- He's one of the most well-rounded players on the circuit and is sort of like 08 Legit where he can fill any role and fill it well.

There are a lot of equally strong candidates in my opinion. I also think we're seeing the best-played Halo 3 of all time these days too. Teams seem to have found the balance between aggressive and thoughtful play, and teamshots are killing with guillotine-like quickness. Whatever you think of Halo 3, I've really enjoyed the play in the last few events as much as anything from the Halo 2 days, although I won't quibble with someone who disagrees.
