The other day I was at gamestop and I decided to pre-order GoW 3 because I had so much fun playing the second one, and I found out that everyone who pre-orders gets a Beta code! For those of you who don't know, the beta starts on April 25th and an end date has not been released yet. Is anyone else hoping Gears will make a return to the circuit?!? Or has Sundance said before that it will not be back? Either way, I am curious if anyone else shares my excitement for this beta and then eventually the actual game :)

the sad thing to me is that the bigger games like gears and halo have such short beta test periods where as crysis 2 has had a long time running with their beta...

yeah it was supposed to be just getting the epic edition of bulletstorm would get you it but turns out if you reserve any copy of gow3 you get the beta also.

I picked up Bulletstorm today so I get the Beta a week early :) Also Already paid off the Epic Edition of Gears 3. $150... ouch but hopefully worth it.

You walk into Gamestop. Say you want to pre order Gears 3. Put 5 dollars up. And they hold it for you on release day for up to 48 hours.

yeah, I'm stoke about Gears3 tbh. Reach just is not doing it for me. My brother and I did follow it during it's run on the circuit. So if it does make it into the circuit it would not bother me that much.

Actually I would rather have Gears 3 on the circuit rather than Black Ops (imo guys). I've never been a fan of the whole Cod, MW, or black ops games, but yes, I am extremely waiting the arrival of Gears 3. I am more into the story than the actual MM. I believe Gears 3 will hold me up until Halo 4 comes out or the remake of Halo C.E. by 343i. I am a all Halo gamer kind of guy, but will settle with Gears rather than Reach ;)

I don't know, I have a strange opinion about this game. I just can't grasp my head around the whole idea of a third person shooter. Despite having played Gears 2 for some time, I mostly just got chainsawed and shotgunned so that didn't leave the best impression on me. So I mean if it does go back on the circuit, I will certainly check it out and see how I like it. But for now, I don't think that I will pre-order this game. And I am the kind of guy who buys like every competitive shooter that comes out.

sadly i don't think it will be on the circut again there wasn't enough showing when it was the first time same thing happened with rainbow six but i did pre order it and can't wait to play it and granteed yes alot of games have longer betas but honestly this isn't needed just a short one will work since it got a 6 month hold to add and fix more to make it a epic game

Basically pre-ordering at gamestop is you place a minimum down-payment (5 dollars for standard edition, 10-15 for limited editions, and 25 for large special editions. Any money you put down will be deducted from the actual cost of the game. Sometimes it is good to pre-order to get special pre-order bonuses, for example GameStop is the only place giving away beta access for preordering GoW 3. I work at GameStop so if you have any questions I can answer them for you guys.

Gotta go with Raging Chickens on this one. I also pretty much buy every FPS that comes out. (with exception to the COD franchise...loved the first two back in the day but really didn't get into any of the others). Loved Gears 1 & 2 and can't wait for 3Wanna see how Epic is going to wrap up this storyline. Off topic a little here but does anyone remember the commerical trailer for the first Gears? The one with "mad world" playing in the background. I still watch it and it still gives me chills.

I bought bulletstorm and there is a tab on the main menu for the Gears 3 beta that you can't access until the release date.

Americanbash, since you work at Gamestop do you know if Epic is going to release cool online items (golden lancer for Gears2) if you show up at midnight for Gears 3 release?

Apparently you never saw the crowd at Dallas 08 or Orlando 09. The team passes used to sell out in minutes or in a couple of days, even so that's irrelevant as to why Gears 2 isn't on the circuit anymore.

The reason why Gears 2 was removed from the circuit after it's first season was because online gameplay was different than LAN and it created a barrier that was hard to practice for online, yes you could glitch it to the point where you were playing previous Title Updates but MLG didn't like that. You can watch the video where I think Dream from vVv asks Sundance why Gears isn't on the circuit at Raleigh 2010.

That didn't really effect Gears 2's stay on the circuit or not. But it did affect online gameplay a ton.

Dallas 08 was regarded as one of the biggest crowds for Gears and I've even saw it on VoD, there were a ton of people.

I also preordered like a year ago! I was in gamestop and the guy working there said they were taking preorders and I would be the first one at that store to preorder so I went ahead and did it. lol.

I can see GoW3 being on the circuit next year but it would be a stretch just because of sponsors like Sony with CoD now on there and SC2 having a good turn out this weekend with only more to come(Jinro wasnt even there and half of some big teams). AND they are still thinking about doing throwback events along with it. I know the venue is HUGE now, but wait until next year when it gets more sponsors and the venues get bigger and MLG continues to grow.
