View Full Version : Fantasy Camp
As many of you know I went to the Fantasy Camp #2 and i learned something that i probably would have never learned otherwise. I learned that I get too selfaware in the game, i get, lets be frank, mind-f****. I was playing fine up to the actual tourney, Hell, i got drafted by the GOAT first pick :D But it all went downhill from there. I got incredibly nervous each time cuz all i could think was I need to do well, i cant let anyone down. Thats precisely the thought that led to me getting dominated. Literally every game where it didnt matter, whether it be playing random fours, or playing a FFA, i played my best!
Ex. After the tourney, we play random fours Me, Nonsense, Asta, and Fis, Vs OG2, Outlaw, Vox?, and Hylian and i played WAYYY better than i did all weekend.
SO what im taking away from PvJ are 3 things
1. I play the game because its fun
2. The mindset that NO ONE can outplay me (even when they probably can) ;)
3. Be aggressive and not be afraid to lose the sniper
For all of those that picked me on Fantasy, im sorry i let you down. Next time I come back, and trust me there will be a next time, expect to see Hea7 top Joe :) Until then, im going to work on my mental game and continue to hone my halo game. After all im only a 16 year old, i have plenty of time!

I did get a nasty triple on you guys on my warm up tho (:
You could see your playstyle change on stream too...and yeah...I did run games with FiS bert and cass with you...you went like pos 19 with obj...don't be afraid to move with snipe...and don't let trash talk in your head...
i thought you played above average until you grabbed the sniper. When you grabbed the snipe your playstyle was very unusual, it was almost as if you wanted to keep that one sniper for the rest of the game becuase you didn't want to lose it. And in the end that playstyle hurt your team because you'd stop teamshooting and miss your snipe shots. that was my the most noticable flaw i found in your gameplay.
Although your awareness was usually sub par or average, you made up for that in your shot. For the most part your DMR was among the best, which helped you very greatly when you were down shots on somebody. You challenged everything though, which does mean you have confidence in your shot, but sadly it also resulted in MANY unnecessary deaths. And when you go down it leaves your team in a 3v4 which obviously can not be good!
Your map movement was bad for most of the weekend, you do know where to go on most maps, but i found NBK and Ogre having to put themselves out of position to help you frequently.
What you need work on:
-Staying focused
-Helping your teammates
-Positioning yourself with sniper
-Always know where you and your teammates are on the map
What you did well:
-You called out almost everything on your screen
-Won lots of your 1v1 battles
My source is I watched your PoV everytime it was up during the weekend.
Good job at PvJ and good luck at the next one!

I'm so jealous that you got to play with OG2 all weekend. I'm guessing that is something that you will never forget. I just hope that I get to hang out with him some this year.

I was thinking the same thing. You are so lucky Hea7! And hahaha don't worry about fantasy. I doubt that you will get any death threats from it :p You seem like a great guy and I hope to see you at a PvJ that I attend!

+ After losing that sanc TS game...looking at his team saying, "The point of halo is not to be a f*%&ing pussy!"
T2 makes epic quotes...
There was another one that was top tier that I cannot remember at this time...

Hea7 I would have to say that say the same exact thing happened to me this weekend. I let my nerves get the best of me, and I feel I did not play near my potential, or even close to how I normally play. For instance when I was streaming, all I could think about was that everyone was watching and I cant screw up, because its all I was thinking I think it affected me greatly. I wasn't focusing on the game, and then after, when we ran fours on Sunday night, I felt like my game and stats had improved tremendously. (Which btw, my bad about getting a little loud, I was getting tired and a lil bit cranky) But after those games I realized that it was all mental started self kicking myself in the ass. But I realized this was a valuable lesson, that I shouldn't let my nerves get the best of me, because its bullshit, and that I should just have played the game, and utilized the tips Roy gave me, when it was game time. Unfortunately it took losing on tournament day to actually realized that I had learned a lot from this JvP weekend. But I now feel confident that I will go on to improve my game and "COMMUNICATION" skills well beyond this weekend, and hopefully someday I'll be at the caliber of the pro's we played all weekend. And Also my apologies to anyone who had me on their fantasy teams, and Roy, Benjak, and Tiger, I choked, end of story. I will most likely be attending another JvP event, because I had a lot of fun, met a lot of cool people, and learned some valuable lessons. Next time I will be back with a different mindset, and I know I will perform much better than I did this weekend. Hea7 Keep practicing, you have a lot of potential and you're a cool kid. Oh and BTW I dont know if anyone has told you, but you snore pretty damn loud haha hopefully I'll see you soon bro!

I choked large core at PvsJ 1. I was nothing special skill wise going in but I really felt the pressure while there and may game went into the toilet. It felt like I had been caught cheating in school or something. My chest had a pins and needles pain down the middle and I had a lump in my throat.
I'll be back to another as well and hopefully I'll be able to cool it down by then. Cheers Hea7
