I was wondering which was a better investment and why? I play competitively and might use them casually, so mainly on a competitive standpoint, which headset was the best one? Please post which one is better and why.

a40's are ok, only thing worth buying though is the mixamp. as for as the headset the pc360's are far better then the 350's and a40's are okay, idk about the 2011 edition though.

how are the 360's better than the 350?
Details would be helpfull.

But the 350 are better in terms of clarity than the a40s "idk about the 2011 edition tho"

The mix-amp is a must use for any headset tho.

Check out this link. Gives in depth review of several headsets.

either way you are looking at a mix amp, i know that the sens are great quality but astros are always reliable. you have to see the sizes compared to your head cause i know that some people have preferences based on how big there ears/head are.

350's vs 360's

360's are alot softer and lighter on your ear and feel.....sexy.

360's sound way better then the a40s but its really about cost. PC360 = $299.99 alone, you'll need a mix amp to talk online. a40's = $249.99 but come with a mix amp.

Try to find used PC350's/PC360's and get the A40 mixamp. That's the best sound quality you can get, beats the 2011 A40's easy.

the PC360's are much better than pretty much anything out right now. I'm seeling my a40s now to try and get them. You can find them on ebay for about 190. but you still have to have a mixamp.

i got my 360's for 190 including shipping and handling.

the 360's are more or less the hd 595's with a mic.

I have used both quite extensively and both have better qualities in different areas. I would agree with those that say to make sure you have the Astro Mix Amp. That is probably the most important detail. For what you are looking for, I think the Astros are a little better b/c I can hear footsteps, lifts, vents, and anything really close to me a lot better on the A40's than the PC350's. Overall sound quality would go to the Sennheiser though. They have more clarity it seems like, but not by a lot. The mic is an important factor as well and no one ever talks about it. I speak very quietly and can adjust the Astro mic basically right into my mouth and it won't register breathing sounds. The PC350 is bulky and difficult to adjust. Having said that, the mic on the PC350 is also sturdy and won't break. The reason I bought the PC350 in the first place was b/c my mic on the A40 broke and I wanted to try a different headset anyway so I got the Sennheiser. The A40 mic is very flimsy. I now use the A30's b/c they don't put a dent in my hair around my ears so when I go to work I don't look like an idiot. To sum up, it sounds like you are looking for which ones will help you competitively the most and I think it would be the A40's. They may not have as crisp of a sound as the PC350's, but it's not that much of a difference and it definitely won't have a noticeable impact on gameplay.
