Okay, so I haven't told anyone this cause I didn't want any "Good lucks" or anything like that towards me cause I didnt want to end up disappointing anyone! So heres the story!
After school today (March 15 2011) , I went down to a local mall here called "Great Mall" near my area . It was me, my friends Legacy, Enigma, and TheArk! Legacy Enigma and TheArk are my Former Teammates and is also my cousin! So we decided to drive there cause of a small tournament that gamestop was hosting over there! The prize was 300 bucks and 4 $50 Gift Cards to gamestop! It was a 4v4 halo reach tournament! There were 4 teams involved cause i guess not much teams wanted to participate. If you lose a match then you're out of the tournament! Luckily, we played the MLG settings cause thankfully one of the workers at gamestop knew that MLG was the most competitive out of all the playlists so he had them in a hard drive ready to go! Me and my former teammates decided to reform for this small tournament for the money! Our team name was Take FlighT!
Our first match was
Take FlighT vs Ninja Flame. We beat them 3-1
Second match which was basically do or die for us was
Take FlighT vs Assassin Kills 3-2 NAIL BITER!
After the final game I got out of my chair, hugged all my teammates and just got a burst of energy! There were about 30-40 people watching us, and it was basically one station with people watching on both sides with 8 monitors and all that good stuff! Alot of the people watching were super pumped too! screaming like "Ohhhh!!!!" and stuff like that! I couldn't believe we won that tournament cause the people playing were pretty good! We shook their hands, got our gift cards and money and it was such a good day for me! I really couldn't believe it and im still in shock from it! My dad knew halo meant alot to me but he has never seen me play or win a tournament and get money off of it! He looked super proud of me and on the trip back home he ask me so much questions about halo reach, and he sounded super interested (we got the next mr. p here?!) haha! So hopefully from that, my dad is convinced to drive to Anaheim with me for an MLG Tournament to hopefully compete!
The Station we played in was basically two long tables, 4 monitors each table 4 chairs each tables and tables facing each other, nothing out of the ordinary, and we played right in front of gamestop so before people went to gamestop or came out of gamestop, theyd watch us play the tournament which gave me a nervous rush! haha, felt like i was in mainstage! So yeah, Practice hard, look for local tournaments and win money! Im proud to say that i represented TLN Today!
ShoutOuts to all the people trying to make it to the top! All of my TLN friends! Krillin, Shelly, Havkin, Hea7, Joe Fries, Luke, Celph, Araneatrox, TLN Bash, the INSTINCT squad for being a great inspiration! my favorite pro Neighbor for teaching me so much in Halo 3 and Halo Reach! The TLN Community and Last but not Least, Mr. and Mrs. P for being great people and always having these deserving kids come over your place for Pros vs Joes and letting them shine! Just being a Great inspiration to everyone in this community! And im glad to be apart of this!
