GMM intro montage

okay guys so as alot of you know i am studying for a degree in music sound tech (recording and produceing ) and i really love post production well this term i have a MIDI 1 and for our second project i knew right away since it was a commercial style project i wanted to do something halo ish and so thanks to Small for allowing me to use clips and what not. I will probably be doing a longer version of this since i am still trying to learn alot more about the editiing software but this is my first real attempt so if you like it please let me know if you don't costructive critisim is encouraged lol
on a side note i built all of it the editing the music its a complete original piece

All those transitions get a little 'dated' after a while. I would rather use fade more and less of the shapes. But they were some decent clips.

Really not trying to be a douche or anything but I didnt really like it too much. Elitist's overkill was pretty sick but the double rocket kills and the single non-headshots with the sniper was not good for an intro. Just trying to help!

hey thats fine but what would you have changed mind you i had like a week to make the vid and build the song for school but i have no issues with you not likeing it but i was hopeing you could offer some other options that you would have liked or changed or whatever you know

I liked it, and agree with darkisde your transitions lack. But that just takes practice with editing software. Are you using pinicale? If so try to get sony vegas it allows for better transitions.

I also don't much care for the constant speed game play.

nice editing
good song choice( no sound just hoping)

Cons:
Outdated transitions
no emotion in the editing, seems straight forward (in class no sound)

Eclipse thanks for the info and ya basically the class is midi so i had to either yous a piece of gear to build music she didn't want audio really but ya i am using Final cut Pro i got it when i went to full sail and honestly haven't really had much practice nor schooling on it my post class won't be till i think next spring term :(

damn i was hoping to get away longer with it okay so small gave me clips of everyone but savior and reliable and i had to eat up some time so i had to use that since nothing else was working right i had rendered the other half already and it wasn't taking editing to kindly now if small gets me a clip i can swap it out

Did you use Garage Band for the music lol? It has the same guitar loop on it that you used for one part. But nice work!

thanks no i used logic 9 studio which is a apple program and has a collection of loops around 50 gigs so it holds the garage band ones too lol but ya i can't play any insturments so thats only my really second attempt at loop building but thanks man

if you buy the studio it comes with them there on the disks called jam pack and its like three or four discs granted you can actually do quite a bit with garage band and soundtrack pro (rhianna's album with umbrellas was done completely in soundtrack pro) but i would always suggest the studio offers more better upgrades and its way better at midi editting

this is the first time Ive seen any of my work in a montage sweet. I liked it but I do agree about the transitions Im not a fan of the shape ones, I did like that because you had to keep it so short you kept it fast paced enough to not seem like it suddenly ends.

thanks D and ya i think that when i do another one thati will keep it to mostly a type of fade if anything you know just gotta learn what does what and i really want to learn live type
