does anyone use IRC?

I noticed TLN has a chat on the frontpage, but does anyone use IRC? I'm a big advocator of using IRC but no one in Halo seems to use it. The #blackops channel on gamesurge has over 100 people idling in it every day, with over 300 people at it's peak record. Would be great to have that kind of community for halo on IRC... at least I think so.
