For anyone that thinks this game is not dying:
Look at how many people are online right now and then look at each playlist...
There were over 1 million PRE-ORDERS and in the last 24 hours, only 500k people have logged in to play the game. That 1 million is not including the people that bought the game after it came out or on xmas."

It's only going to get better. When Halo 2 came out, H:CE lovers complained. When H3 came out, H2 lovers complained, etc... Each time the game took a bit for the right maps and settings to come along. Just be patient.

They shouldn't bring rank back. Just work on the true skill system... A level in Halo 3 was just a number next to your name... Bloom was done properly... Play the game on LAN. It's xbl, get used to stupid stuff happening. If you think armor lock is op... you suck at the game. "Our community is not just big team battle players or firefight players", well this community you posted too is pretty much a community that plays the MLG playlist. Lol... 6 am...

Hopefully they find the right settings. At this stage I feel like MLG hasn't been drastic enough.
Vanilla Reach is pretty bad and IMO the MLG settings haven't changed enough to completely get rid of the smell. I want to see the most obscure stuff being tested, who knows what we might stumble across.
This isn't to say I don't still enjoy watching Reach, I just feel with changes to the game here and there and the right settings it could be a great game.

you took a good game in which you had power weapons most of the game against guys with ar's on a map that is easy to rape on as proof that the game needs fixing?

I feel the biggest complain in that video was bad teammates. I can guarantee there's nothing Bungie or 343 can do to get rid of bad players. They will always be there, and they will always have good friends to help boost their ranks and they will still be put on your team. Remember how many Ebay Generals there were in Halo 3?

The whole video was useless the very first time this guy said "damn". If you want to prove to someone that you are worth listening to, use class, etiquette, and sound reasoning. Don't curse at them and repeat the same thing over and over. His only complaint was that the playlists weren't ranked. That doesn't make the game broken.

But it does make the [What would be] "ranked" playlists broken. He also touched on the bloom a little. But I do agree that it should have been classier, cursing makes an argument sound trashy. Definitely not how you want to speak to a huge company like Bungie.

Well I didn't even read every post here, so sorry if someone said this already, but there is a hidden true skill. Once you play enough it works. In MLG when I am with my teammates who are much better, I play people who are ranked 45-50 on Halo charts. When I play by myself i Play people who are 30-35 on Halo charts. For the video, complaining about things you can easily avoid by changing playlists. Stop playing in those playlists you can dominate and give yourself a challenge. I can have great K/D and all the good stats by playing Team SLayer, and Arena, and BTB, but I choose to play MLG because you can actually die!!! People know what they're doing, for the most part, and teamwork is used. Playing in the other playlists you will get scrubs.

The Fate of Halo Reach Rests in 343's Hands Now

The game is fine, I would like bleed through on beatdowns to be a part of the game. Luckily MLG had a good way to make up for that ;) Definitely took me until about 2 weeks ago to get used to it though, which is natural we played Halo 3 for 3 years (most of us at least)
If you sat through that entire video, which was really difficult for me... but I did... then you can read what I have to say, even if it's long winded...
This guy has some good points, but overall he is over-confirming his own personal opinions about the game. Using phrases like "the fact of the matter is" (followed by a personal opinion of his, not a FACT), or "everyone thinks" (followed by something HE thinks, not EVERYONE), or making absurd claims like "Reach will be dead when Gears of War 3 comes out" (I REALLY doubt that).
I don't disagree with everything he says. I definitely feel like Reach has some major FAILs when it comes to some of the changes it made to the overall franchise. I feel like Bungie tried to do too many things different, and changed things about Halo that were fundamental and worked throughout 3 of it's titles. If something isn't broken, don't fix it. To me, removing the classic overshield, invis, breaking King of The Hill, changing the Melee system, changing it from 3 shot, to 4 shot, to 5 shot and then over-doing the bloom, etc. All of these to me are changes that went a little bit too far. It doesn't break the game though, to me the game isn't broken. What it is, is drastically different from what we've come to know and love about Halo, and for a lot of people that makes this game something that doesn't resemble Halo to them.
But, you have to understand that Bungie caters to it's wider audience. They were also, up until recently, controlled by Microsoft Gaming Studios who just want more people to play their games. They want a larger, wider audience. They want everyone to be able to enjoy the game, and a lot of the issues they were addressing, and a lot of the new features they put into the game, were to make it a more enjoyable game for those players who play casually. That's why you see so much focus on things like longer shot engagements (5 shot), bloom (which to me feels like sometimes it is punishing you for being accurate!), armor lock, and a huge focus on game types such as Big Team Battle and Firefight. Why? Because believe it or not, a majority of the Halo community aren't hyper competitive slayers who enjoy the game for it's competitive value, they play it to have fun, and they are all not even very good at the game.
I think the game needs a title update to reduce the amount of bloom, fix the melee system, fix grenades, and other issues that have been mentioned but I don't think everything talked about in this video is true either. For example, I disagree with the old Halo 3 ranking system returning. My point on that is, I feel like the old ranking system really penalized you for being a higher level. How long did you usually have to wait when you hit above level 40 on a playlist to find a game? It usually took about 10 minutes just to find another group of players that are also your level, and a majority of the time you kept playing the same people over and over regardless of how good your connection was with them. That sucked to me, more than playing with some random team mates. And also, the true skill system DEFINITELY works. I use the custom search restrictions all the time, for good connection, and player skill, and when I play with friends I know who aren't very good at the game we get matched up with other players who are also beginners... when I play with my team mates who have high K/D ratios we get matched up with very good players. So, stop making false claims and pretending these are facts when you don't really know what you're talking about. That to me probably makes Bungie and Halo developers look at these videos as jokes, and not take them seriously at all.
I just don't think Bungie has any intention of putting out a title update, so I've given up on that hope already. I LOVE Reach, more than Halo 2, and I played Halo 2 at a higher competitive level than I am currently playing Reach at. I get online by myself and play 20-30 games of MLG playlist straight without stopping, complaining, or rage quitting... and I constantly come across people in this game who have so many self-righteous opinions and attitudes about themselves, or about this game that it's seriously ridiculous. If you were a true competitive gamer, you would have already realized that there is very little you can do about it, and you just have to learn to adapt and make due with what is given to you. Can an NBA player do anything about league dress codes? Can an NFL player do anything about how many games are played in a season? There is very little.
But props to this guy for creating the video though, and I do think the pressure should be put on Bungie to adress the many issues the game has. I personally just feel that, a) a lot of the griping and complaining about Halo: Reach is greatly exaggerated and b) Bungie is done with Halo, besides catering to their casual audience the best we can hope for is that 343 comes out with a Title Update in the future but to me it is doubtful we will see that anytime soon.

I am a true competitive gamer, and there are things I can do about it. You don't have to tolerate Reach, you can play another game. There are several other MLG games in Black Ops, and StarCraft. What the whole video was about was repopulating Reach and making it great once again. Not tolerating it and saying "There is nothing I can do."
True skill doesn't exist. Period. If you have played enough of this game, you would know that.
Also, someone (bungie or 343) needs to make a title update. The beat down system should be fixed to the way it was in Halo 3. The nades need to be patched BIG TIME. They are so so so powerful, and their blast radius is ridiculous. I seriously think that Armor Lock and that retarded invisiblity AA needs to be take on out permanently. There are so many htings that could be done to help this game. Just don't say that there is nothing we can do.

Agree, I'm done with playing Reach. I am NOT done following the Pro's and MLG though. Although I have never adjusted to Reach... I will wait to see what 343i can do with it. It is almost like Bungie said to 343i "Hey guys, could you please fix this p.o.s ?" lulz
Something to remember is that 343i employees were mostly from the H2 and H3 team, and Reach was designed/created with employees from Shadow Run and Counter Strike. Bungie took a chance with new team and result were not to their favor.
343i to bring us H4, Halo CE remake, and getting their hands on Reach for update that is much needed. So from now on I am like "Bungie who"?????

it almost gets annoying seeing so many complaints. why play the game then? go play cod or sc2 or one of the other games that are or may be on the circuit. reach is the way it is, if everyone could read everyone's post without thinking after every statement "well they are wrong or right" depending on your own beliefs, then you will realize that. the game is different, like with life everything evolves. get used to it, this won't be the last time. here's a great bit of advice, avoid playing playlists you know won't be fun. it's very simple...if you are a competitive gamer play mlg and play the other playlists JUST FOR FUN. if you are a casual gamer then the choice is yours, but understand mlg is for gamers who play to win. not to run around and be selfish and camp. that's what team slayer is for. i think everyone just needs to get used to the fact that this is what we have. they may make big changes they may not, but until they do stop complaining about it. that won't help. if everyone though bungie did a bad job with reach, what is everyone going to think when microsoft puts out their first halo game. i'm sure they will worry a lot more of sales over quality than bungie did. in my opinion, and i pray to god i am wrong, but i believe halo just sold out. having bungie in charge is one thing, but having a huge corporation like microsoft in charge is a totally different issue. sales and revenue will be all that matters. hopefully they keep a good business relationship with mlg so we will always have an mlg playlist. if i was incorrect with my info here i apologize, i just remember reading when it was first announced that bungie was done that 343 industries was run by microsoft.

Pretty sure that's at least 70% of MLG playlist is running around whoring. I don't see a need to bash the game though. I think it's a great game and will continue to get better as all the other Halos did. In the end haters are gonna hate and I'm gonna continue to play more competitive games (SC2 :D). Halo is fun and I think after the first MLG event we will hear less complaining.

lol yea i agree. what i meant was that's how mlg should be haha. when i'm with my team everything is fine, even if i'm playing better skilled people. yesterday playing solo i had to quit i think 7 games in a row because of people quitting out before the game started or in the first 3 minutes. and of course the 2 games i just cant stand...relfection and one flag hahaha

yea that's true but, for someone like me I don't really consider playing anything but Halo. more power to you if you want to leave and play something else, i'm not saying there is NOTHING you can do about it... I'm saying there is very little you can do about it other than complain/bitch. Does it really seem to you like anything the community says gets through to Bungie? Most of their weekly updates are full of redundant information that means absolutely nothing to anyone, it doesn't seem to me at least like they even feel that anyone's complaints are something they should be taking seriously. We can sit here and say 343 is going to fix it, but what kind of timeline are we looking at for when 343 will actually be holding the reigns for the Halo franchise? Is that anytime soon? And who really knows what 343 will do with the franchise too, for the most part that is up in the air. I have good feelings about 343, but all I'm saying is I'm not going to get my hopes up.

i hate teams of armour lockers, makes my blood boil. i quite like bloom, wasnt sure at 1st but got used to it, spamming is part of the game now people know how to use it. the true skill could be different, i dunno how it works but there are some people i play against and i dont even have to try. i played multi team the other with 2 friend, crazy king, countdown. we had loadsa fun but i got 45kills, my 2 friends 48 and 54, we got over 40 assists and were positive by at least 60 or 70. we also won the game, by 10 points. i ask you how, how?!, can true skill be great if we can dominate (without trying i may add) we had about 25 multi kills too. its ridiculous. i'll upload the link to my fileshare and let u guys check that out if ud like.
some changes are needed but i have high hopes (atm).
Everyone is starting to like Reach imo.
I'm starting to feel that way too. lol

you need to play enough of a particular playlist for the true skill to place you in a grouping or whatever they would call it.

the only thing that's wrong with reach is the bloom. it's a good idea, but doesn't work for online play. grenades are fine, power weapons are fine. the only reason they seem overpowered is because you have to shoot someone 8 times with the dmr for them to die. if there was no bloom, and u could five someone at full speed, requiring much better aim and skill than spamming, the game would be much more fun to play. it's decent on lan, but online the dmr is just terrible. and i don't see anything wrong with the trueskill system. i think the only thing that needs to be changed is matching up teams of 4 against randoms. that's annoying.

I'm not nearly as experienced as a lot of you at Halo:Reach, but one thing I do notice, and its something that my friends I play with have noticed, is that the amount of players playing Reach on Live has dwindled and that that CoD:BO is completely overwhelming it. Once the MLG season starts, and CoD has a mainstage alongside Reach, I fear the attention is going to shift drastically to CoD. It seems that Reach is undergoing a very awkward transition between Bungie and 343, and the first 343 map pack didn't do it any favors. Forge world is littered with framerate issues, its much too ambitious in size for the 360 hardware, and there hasn't been any MLG quality maps come out in either of the map packs.
I like both of the new forge world maps put into the MLG playlist, but because they are both from forge world, they both look the same with the same textures and everything. I really hope that future MLG quality maps can come from 343 because if they don't, Reach and the Halo franchise in general is going to start losing some serious ground. I hope its not already too late, because once the game community has moved on from a specific game, it is really hard to get them to come back. Halo has always been the flagship game for MLG, and this upcoming season I'm worried that may no longer be the case. Hope I'm wrong, nothing against CoD - but Halo to me has always been a much more enjoyable game to watch, with more "Ooooh and Aaaah" than any other game can provide. Maybe that will be what saves it, but the CoD franchise is coming on so strongly that it seems like it could take over and leave Halo in the backseat. Not sure what map/gameplay tweaks need to be done to satisfy both the casual and competitive crowd but heres hoping 343 gets it figured out.
