Here is my write up about communication. I think most people should take something from this and be capable to apply in any game.
Communication is a key skill to learn for all games that require any form of team work. This factor is multiplied with the fewer teammates you have. This does not mean in 4v4 communication should not be at a high level, you should always communicate.
How to correctly call out as a team
Do not wait until you die to call a person that you are fighting, for then team work does not truelly happen as your dead and then the enemy has either lived/ ran away, or got a point, or both. Instead call out either before your first shot or near it as possible. This allows tme for a teammate to respond to the call out and be capable of helping you.
For this type of scenario to work you also have to be listening to your team, for two reasons
1. You should genrally be alwys in a possition to help your team at any point, these possitions though are generally points of map control, like top gold/ landing pads on zealot.
2. If your not in those kind of positions you should be with a teammate, so teamwork should insue.
Listening is a key portion of communication. A team can make a million callouts a game, but if the team does not listen and work together, they could and will be crushed by a team that may barely callouts. For simple listening skills to start try playing 4v4 games where only 2-3 players call out at a time, this will usually happen in most games any way.
Specific situations on when not to call out.
If your playing sanctuary flag and your team is pushing into the opponents flag to start a flag run, you have the sniper and are posititioned on their snipe street, knowing that they are going to spawn rocks. If your team is setup correctly you would have two players pushing their rocks, these two should be communicating to each other, while you (the sniper) listen to their call outs and help spawn kill them by using this information. You should only call out if it is some one that they did not call out or if they change spawn areas. And don not for get
For the players pushing their rocks they should be talking to each other saying if they have shots and where they are looking, both players need to listen to be succsessfull.
Listening is the key to success, as well as trust with your teammates communication, that he is calling out accurately.
What to do when you die
When you die, cause it WILL HAPPEN, you need to find the person who killed you with your death cam. Depending on the situation you should not leave your body. Then call out where he is to your teammates once. Then check if your teammates can kill him, usually if teammates are listening and in a position to help they will die or be shot at shortly after the single call out. If your teammate does not kill him/her, then think about if it is an appropriate call out to repeat, this is required by situational situations, and this is what comes with playing the game.
