Hey guys (and maybe gals?)

I'm part of a group here in Middle Georgia that's going to be putting on a (hopefully) big LAN. Quite a few of you know me, and some of you may have even come to LANs we've held earlier this year.

There will certainly be Halo:Reach there, but there may still be some die-hard H3 kids, and if we have enough disks, H2 and H1 could also be on the menu... BUT this isn't all about Halo, there's a good chance that we could have CoD, Tekken, Shadowrun, GoW, pretty much anything you want to bring! If there's enough people/disks, we'll play it and hopefully get to structure a small-buy-in/cash-prize tournament for it. Even PS3, Wii, and PC gamers are welcome! There will probably be several guys there playing Starcraft 2, as well as SC1, Warcraft3, Tribes, Flatout... whatever!

It's set to be October 2nd at noon, and will run all night and into the wee hours of the following morning.

There will be an entry fee, but that really just goes to pay for the venue (more on that in a minute). It's $10 in advance or $15 at the door. We will sell some concessions inside, as well as take orders pizzas later in the evening. I assure you our prices are more than fair, but you can still drive around the corner to McD's or TacoHell if you choose.

It's going to be held in a hotel conference room, we'll set up plenty of network space for around 24-32 xboxes and probably 20 or so PC's... with overflow for each if we need to cram some more in there.

More info and pictures from other LANs are available on our website: http://tech-node.org/events/LANPARTY_2010-3.htm - just click on the links to our previous events on the right hand side of the page.

We also have a Twitter account, you may follow to stay updated, and a Facebook event you may attend, links are in my sig.

If you have any other questions/concerns, you can post them here and I'll check back as often as possible to keep you guys informed.

I would definitely participate if I was in the area. Good to see an actual LAN instead of the normal online meetups of today. :)

I just got some great news... and I gotta tell somebody:

The manager at my local Gamestop is going to hand out adverts for this LAN to everyone who preordered a copy of Halo:Reach... as of this afternoon he had over 200 preorders... this could be far bigger than we ever anticipated.

Also, I got word that we will have some great prizes from our sponsors Crucial, Cooler Master, CPU magazine, Quality Computers (a local shop here, giving us things like video cards, ram, etc, and supposedly/possibly building a FULL PC SYSTEM for us to either raffle, or a tourney prize, idk what we're gunna do with it, but I bet it's a damn nice system ... they don't build cheap sh!t), as well as EdgeTech and Steel Series, though I'm not sure what they'll be donating, if anything.

Also, we've had some emails going back and forth with Astro, and I'm not sure what (if anything) they'll be giving us, but there's a 50/50 chance we may be giving away a set of brand-new, in-box blue Astro A40 headphones as a tournament/raffle prize as well.

If this doesn't wet your whistle, idk what will...

I just wanted to bump this. Less than a week! Yay!

And official MLG v1 settings, just in time. Woot.

Here's the first pics we have from the LAN. They're from a camera phone so they're not super high quality, but you get the idea:

And that doesn't show the PC side, we had at least 48-50 people there.
