Now that Halo has officially reached the end of the road (at least under Bungie's control), whats Bungie gonna do next? Im really interested to see what they are going to try and follow Halo with. Even if it is epic, they'll still always be remembered as, "The company that made Halo."

I don't think we'll see anymore saga's from bungie (atleast not nearly as epic as Halo). I feel as if Bungie will always be known as "makers of Halo." But alot of ex-bungie members will be working with 343 industries (Halo's new company) so the next Halo will be more of what we love about it most likely!

Do you really think they need to milk the franchise anymore? Honestly, I feel like they should just leave it alone while its epic instead of releasing another game that has a high chance of ruining the franchise for all of us....... I could see another Halo Wars, but I think that as far as the story has been developed, they should leave it alone.

Oh Microsoft will milk it until there is no more milk.

Nobody truly knows what bungie is working on but it will be multi-platform and published by Activision.

halo wars was a major let down as far as rts from ensemble i would really hate to see another one.....as far as halo and 343 goes were going to be at least getting a 4th and most likely there will be a new threat since master chief was floating around a planet so we know that something will have to happen in that area .....also 343 has all but officially said there will be a 4th no one was happy the way three ended .....also if the rumors hold up bungies making a mmo and it should be decent

Halo is basicly the reason competetive gaming is as big as it is today! As long as Halo doesn't just go off the wall I predict Halo being like metroid-esque in the way that there is a new one every few years. I feel as long as MLG continues to grow so will Halo and other games as well!

well it sounds pretty pimp if they're actually going to make an MMO. long as they don't completely screw it up.....

They probably will release a halo title every year. just look back halo wars feb 09, halo odst sep 09, halo reach sep 2010.
There are rumors of a halo 1 remake available by the end of this year and probably will make a halo 4 which wouldn't surprise me if they made it for the new xbox in 2012.

343i Said halo titles will come in Bi-Yearly instead of the 3 Year cycles it was before, ODST was nothing but a $60 Expansion and halo wars was developed by another company. I'm just glad its not every year like CoD where they barely update the game and everyone still buys it.

This would be AMAZING! I miss my BR : (

Oh and btw how do you put the "originaly posted by ____" haha noob..

I can't stand that...it's such a money scheme and I can't believe EVERYONE buys into it, it seems like.

I heard bungie and activision are making a new game. But I also heard its not an FPS, it will be an RPG kind of game.

I don't think we have to worry about that too much. CoD releases a new game every year and through two different companies and I haven't really heard people complaining about that much.

Based on the last 2 results, all I can say is it can only get better from here. I was forced to pay $60 for Heretic so I could play MLG GTs, and then a game with very little unique content (maps were basically remakes or modifications from previous titles/No Pit, Narrows, Guardian, etc etc etc), lower quality features (such as single user mode only in theater), and ideas from other developers imo.

I'm not saying the game is good...or bad (my opinion matters not on how fun the game is); what I am saying is I don't feel the same quality effort was put into the last two titles but it cost me $120+. So my answer is UPHILL, the only way they can go!!!

All I know is that whatever Bungie comes out with next, they will need to work hard to win me over. They think they still have all of us securely like they did by the end of Halo 2. The reality is the past two games were a disappointment compared to the first two games.

Knowing Bungie, they probably will just make whatever they think sounds cool, and will ignore fan input. At least VALID fan input. They tend to change the things that don't need changed.

I have to be honest with myself here. No matter what bungie does next I will end up buying it because it's bungie. Curiosity will simply get the better of me. Same thing goes with company's like Epic. And the reason is those companies brought me Halo, brought me Gears. I will just always be a fan.

I feel you guys on the costs however. I remember what it was like living on hamburger helper, ramen noodles, and cheap beer. And I can say this because everyone I have met on this site seems intelligent and generally "squared away" individuals. So there will come a time (hopefully) someday in your lives where you can drop $60-$120 on a game including extras and it not effect your pocket book. (but I think for most of you its the principal behind spending the money right?)

Hey, I'm a glass half full kinda guy!

I just really hope they dont start doing the whole yearly thing, I thinkg every two and a half to 3 years is good enough even if it seems long when saying it like that.

i don't think it will be yearly that is way to soon for halo... from what i have seen the learning curve that is based on the game takes at least 1.5 with the 1.5 just to beat the living hell outta each other... as krillin said they pump oput a new COD yearly and no one complains which is true but now that infinity ward owns the name modern wafare and i don't think there no longer working with activision just trycearch (sp?) will be seeing more of a gap between the games and maybe a little better on the story line as well as the online play....with this so called re-realse of Halo honestly i think that they should combind one and two as far as online goes still keep the stories seperate but i would loveto take hang em, high on line lol but i guess we shall just wait and see oh don't put ODST in the catagorey as a stand alone title it really wasn't it was as Rob said a expensive expansion pack

You are to be commended for intelligently reading and properly interpreting a "take." The fact that you didn't turn words or taint groups of words makes you my hero!!! I think I read where someone's take was $120 shouldn't be an issue and that's what they took away. I make a good living, not rich, but I can do anything I want to within reason. Live on a lake, drive a nice Tahoe Z71, and write 6 people paychecks every 2 weeks.... And ya know what? I still don't want to give away $120 to lazy work. If I was a millionaire, I would still be aggravated over that. peace N love

I agree with Gweedo (of course I'm going to; "thats my boy blue!") and Rob here on ODST being an expensive expansion pack. But I believe ODST was also a tester for bungie prior to work/release of REACH. They were seeing what worked and what didn't (according to the designers/testers opinion). I don't want to open pandora's box in the wrong thread regarding who thinks REACH is great and who doesn't. And I actually didn't mind ODST's campaign. It was entertaining.

Rob; not sure but were you referring to my post regarding spending money on games?
