Just a random thought I had.
We've been getting a lot of new and very creative maps thrown at us here in the forums lately, almost everyone asking for people to test and give feedback and yadda yadda.
What if we got a group together of about 20-24 people (large enough so we could even run 8v8 BTB maps for testing) and set a day and kind of randomly pick 3-5 map submissions and just run customs on them. Different maps every could be chosen week, and the same 20-24 people would be involved.
We could use some high level forge masters to actually go into forge (with the whole party) and check out the spawns and timings and get a preview of the map before we play on it. Then we'd go play a few games on it. The forgers would be in the games, but also we could include top quality competitive players as well as the casual gamer, to cover all points.
When all is said and done, those players involved could write a brief review of the map with pros, cons, and suggestions. This way the map's creator could read through them and go back and tweak some things and release a v2, or scrap the idea and do a full revamp while taking the flaws of the first one into consideration.
I would hope this would encourage more people to forge, as well as get some good testing done on already forged maps, and actually give the forgers a more stable feedback system.
Perhaps we could make a silver XBL account called TLN Forgers and everyone could add it on their FL, similar to the TLN Customs GT, so we would always have a way to know who's online and available and willing to test maps.
Thoughts?
