if there was just DMR's then it would be 100 times better
It's good, but MLG is better.

i thought it was better at first, but the combination of needle rifles, retarded teammates, terrible spawns, and screen lag kinda got annoying.

i agree with you all except respectfully disagree (for now) that mlg playlist is better. Multi-kills in classic make the game more exciting...oh yeah plus some of the best mlg maps of all time (that i mostly haven't played)

Neither. Unfortunately it has its flaws. Let's list a few:
1. It's back to that floaty/ice-skating unresponsive feel like Halo 3.
2. Radar.
3. AR is way too strong.
4. 125% speed does not make up for the power of the grenades. Grenades are too powerful. 110% speed with sprint makes up for Reach's already pretty strong grenades when they're only on 100% damage.
5. Sniper is too strong. People complain about how easy the sniper is to use now, well it's going to get worse.
MLG settings are much better than Classic's. However, I would play Classic over all the other playlists.

the worst game i played was rifles on elongation. there was one guy with super host sitting at one end of the map spamming needles like no other, and the screen lag across map was so horrendous for me i couldn't even hit the guy. none of the other maps are that bad though.

yea, i definitely don't see the point in 110 damage. i saw one gametype that no one voted for. it was called 4SK, which i assume is 4 shot kill with the dmr. i wish they had voted for it, cause it's really rare. the radar really sucks too. i love the jump height though, i've been ninja'ing people like crazy.

1. I love halo 3 that was my intro to halo. 2. Radar is good to me in some ways because it is preparation for bic flex4 ffa since i know i'm not winning a tournament with a team any time soon. 3. Igoturpistola lol 4. Grenades being powerful strengthens my argument that multi kills are more common which by far make the game more exciting (especially when you are sticky spree13) 5.sniper makes the game extremely exciting along with multi kills but i haven't used it yet in classic so i'm not sure

I just love the map choices overall in the Classic playlist. If prophet was in the MLG playlist I would play a lot more lol

Exactly. The maps in classic are very appealing to the majority of the community. I have a dream of one day including some of these maps in a reach mlg. For me i have played heretic and blackout and i like them both a lot compared to the h3 versions - i think they hold their own against the h3 maps for sure. Oh yeah my dream also includes an octagon playlist..NEW POLL LOL

Its really good, better than I expected.
The spawn system needs a lot of work, can't tell you how many times I have been spawn trapped. Not because the other team were intentionally doing it, nor were they that good. If you play more passively is doesn't seem to work as well on these maps.
Apart from that I had a giddy feeling that I haven't felt in a long time, when I first played Prophet, I felt the nostalgia and turnt to my friend and said: I could play this for 32 hours.

Grenade multi-kills and very easy body shot sniper multi-kills aren't exciting. It makes it less skillful.
The only exceptional thing about the playlist is the maps.

All of these but 4 are Halo 3 feature, thus why they call it classic.
1. If it feels like halo 3 thats what they're going for
2. Radar was in a majority of gametypes in all Halos
3. AR was exceptionally strong in H3
5. Sniper still takes 2 body shots or 1 head shot to kill, just like in all the other Halos

1. I admit it's a little ice skatey at first, but after about 10 games I was used to it.
2. It's a bungie playlist what do you expect, MLG should srsly consider these settings.
3. You play classic slayer ಠ_ಠ. I'd say out of like 70 games I've played classic slayer like 3 times and that's going in by myself most of the time.
4. Yea grenades are stupid overpowered.
5. The sniper requires 2 body shots and 1 head shot, which is the same unless I've gone crazy. If anything the increased run speed would increase the difficulty to snipe if only by a small amount. I'm not saying that it does it's still ridiculously easy to snipe in Reach, but it's not easier in Classic.
To all those saying DMR should be the only gun are you crazy? The main appeal of Classic is the 110% dmg which makes the NR a 6sk. The rof of the NR makes it the clearly superior weapon at this setting. Overall I tried to play MLG after playing Classic for about 70 games, and It was unplayable to me. I had quit Reach for about 2 months before this and came back whenever Classic playlist came out, and it has rekindled my love with halo.
Edit: I guess your point about the sniper was that after a body shot it only takes 1 DMR shot to the body to kill. Well at 110% dmg the NR should be the main weapon and it doesn't affect health so there's that counterpoint.
The main point that should be taken from this playlist is that the NR is the better weapon choice for MLG if they bump up the dmg to 110%, which they should. The only downside of 110% is that grenades are more overpowered, but I would say that getting rid of the randomness of the DMR far outweighs this problem. Even if MLG continues with Sprint and 110% speed I'd be ok with it as long as 110% dmg and NR is implemented.
tl;dr
NR at 110% should be MLG settings.

I think its a lot of fun, and a great change of pace from playing MLG all the time. But MLG is still the better playlist.
