That was a good article. Definitely made me reminisce about all the good times I've had on H3 and even H2/H1. Keep up the good work :)

Great job, Celph. It's so upsetting that this is Bungie's last Halo game. Reach shall be epic.
I'd say my 9 hours of custom games (6:30 PM - 3:30 AM) last night was a great farewell to Halo 3. I played a LOT of 4v4s, FFAs, and even around 3 games of Octagon. It was a fun night, and I got to play with good friends. I'm expecting Reach to bring the same kind of fun. I can't wait. <3

I enjoyed the article very much. H3 on the other hand, was the most frustrating game of all-time and I have to respectfully disagree with Impended about being upset with this being Bungies last Halo game. I feel that Bungie sold out with H3 and totally 100% catered to the casual gamer instead of the fans that have been with them from the beginning. Some concessions should be made but not the entire game. Thats what Bungie did with H3, they lessened the skill gap entirely too much for my liking. I am very pleased they don't get to make halo anymore.

And that's why they're fixing things in Halo Reach. However, this is not the thread for that topic.

Agreed. Please stay on topic Rif. Thank you Impended.
OT: Theater was so awesome. Maybe we'll be able to send it off with some more customs this weekend / Monday? If you'd like to play customs be sure to post in the Halo 3 Customs thread. :)

Aw thats sad I didn't realize this is the last Halo Series game :(. But its going to be awesome.
My question is where is MLG going to be in 10 years where there is no more Halo games being made? Any other titles that will keep coming along?

It's not the last Halo game. It's the last Halo game made by Bungie. 343 will now be making Halo.

I like how the article is so consice without leaving anything out. Nice work Celph.
I'll let the professional's answer Dizaster's question:
"Following the release of Halo 3, Bungie announced it was splitting off from Microsoft and becoming an independent limited liability company. While Bungie remains involved in the Halo series by developing games such as ODST and Reach, the rights to Halo remain with Microsoft. To oversee everything Halo, Microsoft created an internal division, 343 Industries,[66] serving as "stewards" for the franchise.[67] Frank O'Connor, formerly a Bungie employee,[68] now serves as 343's creative director.[66]"

Personally I missed the boat on CE, but as I remember it I got into the 'lo around the time the legendary map pack got released on 2. I was discombobulated exquisitley faster than you could say "spawn kill." Eventually I got the hang of it, and pretty soon I was hooked. I can say that absolutely, Halo 3 does not capture the same magic Halo 2, both campaign and live, has in spades. However, Halo 3 has it's own brand of sweet sticky magic. I say don't knock coke just cause you love pepsi.
I guess it's a bit late to be posting an opinion considering reach has been out almost two weeks, but hey.

Great article to sum up halo 3. Makes me miss halo 2 even more and how I can only play it at LANs.

Can you even play the patched H2 on LAN?
