View Full Version : Linksys Cisco E3000 Setup?
Hey TLN, I get insane amounts of lag on Reach whenever I play pretty much since I got this router, what are the settings that I can change to improve the connection?
I had an open NAT so that wasn't the problem, now I have a Mod from screwing with my settings.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention it lags me out of Live around 2-4 times a day.

I think I have that one too, is that the one with 2 wirerless connections coming out of it?
If so I don't experience any lag with it, I did have it really bad for one day but other than that 1 day I havnt had any real lag from it
Also if you could post a picture of it so i no for sure that be nice~

I have a E3000 router and the only time I really lag is a fat screen lag every other day but I think its just my monitor... I did that manual xbox ip settings thing Idk if its going to help or not.. Let me find the link to what I am talking about in a sec bro.
Yeah it has the main connection and then the guest connection.
This is the exact model I have.

This is for open nat settings which you said you have or had? not sure but when I did this my internet seems to work perfect(I normally run 4 xbox's a ps3 a wii and 6 laptops off of the same router

ya, mines the E2000 we were going to buy the E3000 but since E2000 was cheaper we bought that instead and if it wasnt that good then we'd go to the E3000

I probably would assume it is your provider, not the router. Maybe to prove me wrong, try using a different router or no router whatsoever, just hook the xbox up directly to internet if possible. Either way, play on that connection and see if it continues. If it does this means it is your provider, your options available are:
♦reset your xbox settings and to do this you go to dashboard > my xbox > scroll right to system settings > select system settings > select network settings > select wired > select configure network > scroll right one tab > select restore factory defaults. This will reset the xbox network settings to how they originally were; you will have to re-enter all network info again if password protected, etc.
♦if reseting your xbox's settings did not work and problem still persists, then it is not the router or the xbox. I would assume it is the provider. I suggest calling your provider and speaking with them. Be like, "Hey, my internet keeps dipping out on my 3-4 times a day. It has been sorta slow... " whatever the case may be.
and walla, they should hopefully have someone come out there and fix it.
