TLN "Like" Button

Hey everybody I was just thinking about something. Over the past year or two, more and more websites have been putting "Like" buttons on their web pages. I was thinking about, what if TLN had their own "Like" button for threads, posts, media content, etc...

Do you guys think this is a good idea?

I thought about that the other day. I think it would be awesome to have a like button below each post that way when you say something really funny or everyone agrees with you'll know!

See the problem with that, People would whore 'Likes' as they did in the MLG forums. I don't really think the idea is a good one. But if it is implemented i wont complain.

We already have Like/share buttons on news/articles pages... at the bottom..

Darf, they are asking for it on each individual Forum post. Rather than having it connected to Facebook

Yeah that is the problem I see with it. It's a good idea, but I feel like people would be consumed by it and only worry about getting likes on their posts. I feel that the more posting related things implemented, the more people will be distracted from actually posting. There are already spam posters, and there would probably be Like obsessers if this was done.

But, I wouldn't complain either if it was created. Certainly not a bad idea!

(btw I love badges for anyone who thought I was giving a subliminal message)

Yea I didn't think about that. I didn't know it had been used and abused before. I think the community here is a little more mature but with TLN growing in memebers everyday I do see how it could easily be over done. But I would still like to give it a try. I definitely would like post but also continue to post and add to the coversation.

i think when someone quotes your post its sorta like saying you like it or find it with good purpose or atleast bothered to read it lol.
