Hey guys I just got back from trying to buy a new controller and all the had were wireless? I asked the guy where the wired ones were at and he said Microsoft no longer produces them? And seeing as that you need wired controllers for tournament play and I don't want to constantly be buying batteries WTF is up with this!?

Anyone else hear about this before?

There is a wired controller listed.

I know certain places do not carry them. Such as the 3 Wal-Marts near me do not carry wired controllers.

Order from amazon / newegg / buy / etc and it'll be cheaper anyways. Stores don't carry a large stock of wired controllers because most of the demand is for wireless.

Employees were saying that in a few major chains like Walmart a year a so ago. But it never turned out to be true. Some stores just stock wireless controllers because they sell better then wired ones. For the most part, competitive gamers are the ones that look for the wired controllers.

ebay always has a lot. they are like 10$ with 12$ shipping. not a bad deal. i have to get a new wired controller soon. just buy one from ebay and then open it and sand down the thumbstick holes. cheap no slows!

Microsoft does produce wired controllers still they are 39.99. Some stores carry them only online like GameStop. I know from my experience that Best Buy and Wal Mart sell them in stores. I am trying to spread the word throughout GameStop to get them in store again.

its not that they arent making them

microsoft isnt shipping them to a lot of major retailers including walmart and gamestop because they want people buying the wireless controllers so they can make more $$$

Hanging black things on racks and what not is so racist. I say we make them float in mid air.

Tigerdirect.com, they have em there for $30.00 and shipping normally takes less than 2 days. I swear I live on that site.

The only ones being produced that I am aware of is the black wired ones with the shiny metallic look for the middle Xbox guide button. Personally, I own two of them and they are great, nothing wrong with them that I am aware of. I give them a thumbs up ^.^

yea it seems like once every year a thread like this pops up. there are some stores that just dont carry them and then the employee that works there has no clue what he's talking about and makes a false statement. Microsoft still sells them you just have to find the right store or go online and find one. I remember a while ago MLG said they were teaming up with MadCatz, idk what ever happend with that but i think they wanted to make an mlg controller.
